Hi Zippy
Glad you enjoyed your family dinner, that sounds really nice. Hope you got to sit down and enjoy the food too! We don't eat as a family very often, but its lovely when we do. Leftovers always taste yummy don't they, I think thats cos all the hard work and washing up is long done!
The meeting tonight was pretty big. I think what made a difference was getting there a little early. One chap from the other day was outside and he gave me a big smile and said he was glad to see me coming back. It was really nice, and I relaxed a little. I mentioned to a few people how scared I was, and they all said they felt the same at the time. This is definately the right thing for me to do.
My dinner is in the oven, should be ready in 45 minutes. I don't know how everyone manages to eat so early in the day. Maybe I'm the odd one lol. I'm having chicken and sweet potato with three bean ragu. Then straight in to bed lol.Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -
Thanks FG, so good its worked out for you, it will probably get better each time now as you get to know people. Can you go once a week or is it on more often than that? I'm hoping the depression group I went to is a bit busier, I don't think they have advertised it though, I checked in the local supermarket today and there wasn't a poster. They said they are targeting people who are already getting help, but there must be so many people out there too afraid to go to their doctors etc that could benefit.
I don't think I could wait that long for my evening meal lol. I do find I pick at this time of night though. I'm supposed to be trying to get to bed earlier, but i'm not making much headway.0 -
There are five meetings each week that are within a couple of miles. There are also a lot of meetings a bit further away, so there is always one I can get to if I need one. The five meetings are all a little different, so I am trying them all to see which one I like. I will probably go to two meetings a week.
I really hope the depression group catchs on, it does sound great. These things do take time, what day is it on again? Hopefully it'll spread through word of mouth too. AA works on 'attraction, not promotion' - if people want to find us, they will. Maybe it'll work like that.
I've got a paper cut on my the end of my ring finger and it hurts whenever I hit a key with it! I'm not wearing my wedding ring at the moment, as my finger got infected underneath it. It cleared up, but as soon as I put my ring back on it got infected again, despite me really cleaning it. Thing I may have to buy a new one! I've still got a big dent where it used to sit.Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -
Thats good you have such a choice of meetings, hopefully this one will pick up slowly. Sounds like your skin has gone sensitive under your ring, might be best just to leave it for a bit. Paper cuts are the worst aren't they!
I'm putting off doing some ironing, i've got to do some uniform for the kids tomorrow. Hope you enjoy your dinner and have a good nights sleep.
Enjoyed our chat, its nice to have some company on here at night as it can be so quiet at this time. See you tomorrow :hello:0 -
Well I have sat and read and reread the booklet that came with my pills.
Also read up a bit about them on the net.
And I'm terrified.
Despite getting the pills yesterday I have not yet dared take one.
I know I will have to sooner or later.
I'm just so worried, there seems to be so many possible side effects!!!- Disturbances of the gut such as diarrhoea, constipation, nausea, vomiting or abdominal pain
- Sleepiness (somnolence)
- Dry mouth
- Increased sweating
- Headache
- Shaking, usually of the hands (tremor)
- Dizziness
- Weakness or loss of strength (asthenia)
- Difficulty in sleeping (insomnia)
- Agitation
- Nervousness
- Awareness of your heart beat (palpitations)
- Visual disturbances
- Loss of memory (amnesia)
- Appetite and weight changes
- Sexual problems
I am so scared of taking the first pill!Dream of being mortgage free....

Please remember dawny, a medication only has to have 1 person report a side effect for it to be listed. yes you may experience some side effects, but they generally pass after a few days if they are even experienced.
Sounds like you are describing fluoxetine or citalopram? ive only looked at this thread half way through, but im going to read back.
you may experience some of the things in the side effects list... but they can be related to other things and not medication. don't let your anxities get the better of you, get the better of your anxities.
don't be scared, be supported.Sorry but please keep your signature to 4 lines in length - MSE Forum Team 20 -

Hi dawnylou,
sorry haven't read previous messages but which anti depressant are you taking?Christians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0 -
Hi Dawnylou. Hope you are feeling okay this morning. Antidepressants usually take some time to start work, so don't worry if you don't see an improvement for 2 weeks or more. Thinking of you xxStay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0
