Definitely felt under the weather today. The sudden drop in temperature has given me a cold and my body hurts today. Been very grumpy today and felt low. Of course everything else on top has really annoyed me:mad:

The bad sleep hasn't helped so hope I sleep OK tonight.

    Still OK with OH.

Do you sleep better when its cold? I find I sleep so much better when I can get snuggly under the blankets and its chilly outside.

Hope your cold gets better soon. I forget how rotten they make you feel, always shocks me how much they make you ache.

Hope tomorrow is a better day and you feel a bit more relaxed.

What were your blood tests for? I'll send you some best wishes for tomorrow.

Thats really nice of your neighbour. We've just started getting friendly with our neighbours. When OH went away with work, a huge spider appear. Mr Next Door came straight over and got rid of it for me. Neighbours can be great can't they.
I'm not entirely sure what individual things they were for, but overall they were looking for "physical causes of depression", so it was things like thyroid.

  • Evening Dithedancer. I've just got your name! When I've written your name ealier, I thought it was Dit The Dancer! Nice to meet you Di lol. Don't mind me.

Thanks for sharing your experiences with us. I cannot believe that your counsellor violated the trust like that. I imagine that must really hurt. Its totally understandable that you feel let down. I'm glad they've changed the system, I do think counsellors should be totally seperate from other employees as it isn't good when things like these happen. Do you think you'll consider counselling again? Do you think it was helping before the betrayal?

Sorry that you feel a little down after talking about your experiences. Hopefully you are feeling a bit better and enjoying the evening.

    Hi jenny!:hello:
    How are you hun?
I came across this interesting scheme called 'Books on Prescription'. This is available in different areas so you'll have to check if it's in your area jenny. It's meant to help all kinds of mental ill health and other issues. I've copied this link as an example of the scheme angel.
    http://www.swindonpct.nhs.uk/lifestyle/MindandBody.htm

As promised, here is a list of links that may help for reading. I haven't used these myself so I hope they help angel. It is very much a case of also visiting your local bookshops and seeing what jumps out at you.;) I haven't used these links myself so can't vouch for them personally hun.

http://www.mind.org.uk/Information/Booklets/Understanding/Understanding+bereavement.htm - free downloads from mental health charity

http://www.mygriefspace.com/ - this site is an online resource but it is not connected with ''myspace'' - there are blogs & forums etc.

http://www.livinglifetothefull.com/ - free online resource - has been recommended by some people on here

From the Royal College of Psychiarists website recommending these books.....

Through Grief: The Bereavement Journey. Elizabeth Collick (1986). London: Darton, Longman and Todd. ISBN 0 232 516 820 A book about grief and recovery. *

    More books...

Feel the Fear and Do it Anyway (Susan Jeffers 1997)
A book of advice on how to cope with fear of various kinds of experience, such as public speaking, self-assertion, decision-making, intimacy, being alone, ageing, losing a loved one, and ending a relationship.
(This book is brilliant jenny - I have it.)

I Wasn't Ready to Say Goodbye Workbook (Brook Noel & Pamela D Blair 2003)
This workbook offers step-by-step guidance and exercises for those coping with the sudden loss of a loved one and places a support vehicle in the hands of those who are mourning.

When Bad Things Happen to Good People
by Harold Kushner. A wise book on suffering written by a Rabbi.
    £5.99

Mind Over Mood by Dennis Greenberger and Christine Padesky This was voted the most influential cognitive behavioural therapy book of all time in 2002 by the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Therapies. It aims to build self-esteem by showing readers how to rate mood reactions, become more balanced in their thinking and do behavioural experiments.

Don't forget angel that your local library can usually order books in for you for free, if money's an issue.
I admire your courage and strength hun and again, I'd suggest maybe a talk with the dr would be a good idea.;)
    Hoping all is well angel.hug.gif

    Morning All.
The weather is bright but chilly, & me knees are fine so probably a good laundry day.

My sympathies to those who have recently lost a loved one---I'm going to use the american expression because it says things best
I'm truly sorry for your loss.
It sounds rather selfish, but you can't help looking around & thinking 'whose next', particularly when a younger person is "called home".:o That's another expression I find comforting--heard it first for a family friend who was involved with scouting. Maybe it sounds religious, but I don't think of it in that way. Sometimes I wish I did have a faith, but I do believe in Mother Nature having a reason for everything.

I have a closet Hippy, hiding under a petrol head, who could be looking for a white whitchet college placement:rotfl: :rotfl: How's that for a personal definition!

    Hi guys!:hello:
    Wow folks - it's been a rough few days hasn't it?! redface.gif
I think we could all use one of these right now.grouphug.gif

    Tiffbits...

To all our friends who are grieving...if thoughts and best wishes from your friends here were visible to you, you'd see a rainbow of love, respect and compassion for you all. I can't do anything really useful, except to say that I do care and I'm keeping you all close.hug.gif

To everyone one... if things are hard, go back to dealing with things an hour at a time. Please don't be afraid of seeong your drs. Good luck to anyone with appointments, treatment, counselling, meetings etc. Thank you all for your compassion and support - you're such special people.hug.gif

to rose - how are you hun? I'm sure work has left you exhausted and it's bound to take some time to adapt to a new routine after such a long time not working. I hope things are getting better angel. I'm very proud of you for trying so hard.hug.gif

to sazzy - hoping all is well with you hun and that the hamster wheel at work isn't going too fast.wink.gifhug.gif

to dawny - how's you angel? Feeling anxious about ads is natural hun - we should all have a cautious and healthy respect for them. I'd imagine that the dr has put you on a low dose in case there are any problems. Please go back to your dr if you have any problems hun. As another poster said, you may have some, one or none of the side effects. Most reactions settle down after a while, but if you're in any doubt hun, call your dr or your chemist or A&E. Your chemist and A&E can advise you if your dr isn't available - they're happy to take your call hun. Remember to tell them about all the meds you may be on though so they have a complete picture of your meds.
I know exactly how you feel dawny - so much so, that I've stopped reading the leaflets inside -not a good idea - just in case I imagine myself into some symptoms. That way I know that if I feel ill, I've not scared myself into it.wink.gif If you read all the tiny writing on some of our every day foods, you'd be amazed at what goes into them!nod.gif I think we just have to keep a balanced perspective.
    I hope you're feeling better angel.hug.gif

to ethel - thinking of you and missing you hunnie! I'm hoping all is well with you and yours.wink.gifhug.gif

to elona - how are you angel? I know you keep up with the thread and I just wanted to let you know, you're not forgotten sweetheart.hug.gif

to gem - how's stuff gemmy? I haven't seen you post for a little while and hope all is well hun.hug.gif

to rbk - how are you angel? Where are you at hun? A bit worried because I've not seen your posts - hope I haven't missed you out. There again, I've got a serious run of catchup to do.rolleyes.gif Take care hun.hug.gif

to andi - how are you angel? You're another one who's gone a little bit quiet. I hope all is well with you andi.hug.gif

to zippy - what's happening in your part of the world angel? It seems a while since we spoke. Hope all is well with you and yours hun.hug.gif

to katie & pumpkin & cc & miro & qb & fg & ltd -welcome back to you all. It's lovely to hear from you again guys. Don't leave it so long next time ok?wink.gif I hope you're all well or on the road to recovery.hug.gif
