I've just got my August statement and the cashback is now fully up to date. I have claimed for this online. The points to note about the process are:

    1) it gets credited at next statement date
    2) it reduces next month's statement balance but you still need to pay (e.g.) this month's statement balance in full yourself as normal.

Also note the 'due date' is now later (25 days after statement instead of 14 or 15) which does make quite a big difference and is welcome. If I can carry on using this in lieu of my 1% Capital One card for the Amex 1% I might find it beneficial to stick with.

These news cards must have done Amex a favour as well. I was stood waiting to use the self service machines and saw 2 people using the Barclaycard Amex cards and then someone using the Nectar Amex card (Then me another Amex card once I got to a checkout). I wonder how many Barclaycards were replaced with Amex cards, it could mean Amex has had its global cards increased upwards of 1%.

I wonder if merchants have noticed a significant increase in Amex transactions.

It will likely promote a flurry of activity if there has been a big increase, as costs will be rising. Some companies may decide to stop taking Amex. Others may try to go for volume discounts on fees.

I'm missing my £15 cashback bonus, despite spending £500+ last month. I'm hoping it comes through next month.

Just noticed that Barclaycard failed to take my direct debit in mid-July for the statement they issued in June.. no idea why!

The direct debit has been set up for years to clear the account in full each month :( So I have sent them a secure message an will see what they say...

Looks as if they plan to take June and July's combined balance this month as far as I can tell.. lets hope they don't try to add any charges or ruin my credit file due to their error.

My egg card migrated over in mid May..

    Regards

I can see my Barclaycard account on the free Noddle credit report (Callcredit) FYI.

Thanks but I am currently overseas and Noddle's website blocks non UK IP addresses so I can't use it to check.

    Will see what Barclaycard say..

agreed. just looked at my accounts online & the DD date is a full 10 days later, which as it happens is very handy for me this month. i still don't see myself using the new cards (if they ever arrive) though.

are you sure they haven't just put the DD date back a few days, as referred to above?

Nope. World snipped. Unashamedly taken the 2% Amex double bubble. Plus all the compo. Which reminds me, need to took on todays bill to see if cashback is correct yet.
