Barclaycard World MasterCard (Ex Egg Money) Being Replaced with Amex + Visa Combo
Comments

to disappear from Pending when still not having appeared as a Transaction doesn't seem right at all. i would assume they will sort this.
i havent received the cards yet...my main spending cards are Amex and a Barclaycard Visa, and both appear as transactions in a couple of working days. the 'Pending' showing for the Barclaycard Visa is sometimes quite useful.
The pending on a normal Amex card is great because you can drill down to see the detail.0 -
I haven't even had the new cards yet!0

Statement just issued. By the cashback area there is a small drop down headed "more details". This shows the cashback rates and the amounts. Mine says 0.5% for visa and is blank for amex, but the overall amount of cashback seems to be roughly equating to 1% on the amex.
Have complained. They seem incapable of getting things right.0 -
Mine is the same. It says 0.5% for Visa and is blank for Amex. I spent £919.33. Most of that was on the Amex with only a few on the Visa card. I have earned £8.16 cashback.
According to my calculations I have been paid 1% Amex, 0.5% Visa and 1% for two small Mastercard transactions before the migration. Also no sign of the £15 for spending more than £300.
Complaint sent. Not a happy camper.0 -
just had an email from Barclaycard, including:
"In about three weeks you'll be receiving your new cards.•
The Barclaycard Cashback American Express® Card that gives you 1% cashback •
The Barclaycard Cashback Visa Card that gives you 0.5% cashback
Both your cards are connected to the same Barclaycard account. And to ensure everything remains as straightforward as possible, the PIN for both your new cards will be the same as your existing one.
There's nothing for you to do now, apart from keeping an eye out for your new cards. You'll be able to start using your cards as soon as they arrive, so make sure you carry them both with you to earn cashback on every £1 you spend.*
Once you receive your new cards, please destroy your old card by cutting it into quarters, ensuring you cut through the chip. Your current card will be deactivated 30 days after your May 2014 statement."
strictly speaking 30 days from my May statement has already passed....so i assume they mean it will be deactivated late June. it is certainly working today, as i am squeezing some cashback out of them before they pull it on me:A0 -
Got a letter in the post (how quaint) saying that my complaint about the 1%/0.5% saying they aim to resolve it by 2nd July. Hum.0

Exactly the same for me - the last few MasterCard transactions attracted 1%, Visa attracted 0.5% and Amex attracted 1%.
Complaint sent.
To be fair, they did say the £15 would be credited to your *next* statement, so I wouldn't expect it until next month anyway.0 -

Looks like they know and trying to sort the problem out, see the reply I received from them.
Thank you for your e-mail.
In regards to your query may I first assure you that your Barclaycard account is registered for double cash back however due to a technical issue the cash back amount has not been applied correctly.
The issue is under investigation and and correct cash back will be applied on your account shortly.
Kind Regards,0 -
i strongly suspect that they will get the doubling right, so i wouldn't worry about that.
the news here remains the fact that they are changing the accounts very much to the detriment of customers.0 -

Thanks - sounds promising.
I just got a 'holding' reply saying they're passing the details to the relevant department.0
