Barclaycard World MasterCard (Ex Egg Money) Being Replaced with Amex + Visa Combo
Comments

my cards aren't due until late this month..
but on barclaycard.co.uk my statement shows "Visa" under the total spending...i don't think that was there before...and i assume the ideas is that "Amex" will be appearing below some spend, for those that use the new card when it arrives.
i am still squeezing as much 2%CB out of my 'Hi5' account, but when the new cards arrive i don't plan to activate them...i'll just ask them how best to get my Cashback and transfer my limit across to my FR card (which they have almost promised).0 -
Went to use my Barclaycard Amex card yesterday, once at tourist site and once in a pub. Surprise Surprise both places didn't accept Amex cards so I had to use the Barclaycard Visa option. At the moment I'm on the 6 month double rate trial, so still got 1% CashBack, but going forward this is going to be a real issue.0

and if you were going to spend on Amex, you might aswell use a proper one0

Just checked my CB and it is at the original rate and not the double rate.
Complaint sent...
And so far I have only found one place - Amazon - that takes Amex. Not every one lives in a big city with major brand names around them that can stomach amex charges!0 -
My cashback was also not at the agreed double rate. Apparently they are aware of the problem but had no timescale for fixing it.
If you spend £300 on the new cards when does the £15 get paid is it on following statement?0 -
i wouldnt worry too much re. the doubling, as they are bound to make it right0

It is 3 months after your account migrated, which is 9th May for me. The Barclaycard rep said that I will get the £15 is a bonus, in addition to the standard cashback, and it will be automatically credited to the account.... Same here. I have been quite surprised that my Barclaycard Amex does not appear to be accepted at Tesco petrol stations pay at pump, but does work in Tesco stores. I have until November to find something better.0 -
Got my cards yesterday, I was concerned as I have an external mailbox and don't trust my neighbours! Thankfully all good. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0

I have got my two cards. I have online access to my spending. They can receive money when I send it using one of the the new card numbers as a reference.
There is no mention of any previous cash back or on going cash back totals in the online presentation of my account. Is this a common issue with Ex Egg, Ex Barclays world mastercard holders?
