Barclaycard World MasterCard (Ex Egg Money) Being Replaced with Amex + Visa Combo

Just come across this thread as I also have a Barclaycard cashback. I receive the letter telling me that I would receive the amex and visa after my May statement. Well that was 9th May and received nothing...
I am in the middle of spending a large amount as we are moving house this week and need bits of furniture. Under my cashback summary is says that I am on the anniversary rate of 4%. Will this be taken away as I am past the May statement? Or can I argue to keep this as my cards haven't actually replied and I am just working on the old visa card...
You ring them and they haven't got a clue about it...0 -
Just got the letter too. Need to crunch the numbers but will at least spend £300 to get the initial £15 credit.
Originally had the egg card for many years now. Maybe Stander 123 could be an option for me.0 -
My June statement has been produced (relatively early in their random date selection, but with a relatively long payment period).
Cashback has been recorded at 2% on the World Mastercard & Amex and 1% on the Visa. There was some odd rounding of 1p.
Request cashback button became available so requested that. The pop up that follows implied cashback will be credited when next months statement is produced (along with cashback for that month) and counts as a credit, not a payment.
Plus I'll get my £15 for spending £300 in addition to the above in July.0 -

If you managed to work out your cashback, you're doing better than me! Got my June statement but I can't get from the transaction figures to the cashback using any combination of 1% & 2%. The good news is that it's more than 2% on Amex + 1% Visa & Mastercard that I was expecting.
Other good news is that the cashback that wasn't shown last month is now back in the running total.
Not very impressed at the extra 'request cashback' step. When it was paid annually it was automatically credited to your account. No doubt another one of the Barclaycard 'improvements'! Also not impressed at the temperamental nature of the Amex card, especially when using contactless.0 -

It is getting better now though. The only places I go that don't take amex contactless is weatherspoons and WH Smith and I don't go there very often. Small businesses are much better these days, BarclayCard have updated all of their terminals to automatically take amex contactless (as long as they take amex) and streamline are starting to do the same thing. My local bar who uses streamline (according to the logos on the door anyway) literally just started (A few days ago) to take Amex contactless.0 -

The rare sight of a bank error in your favour!
I think I worked out where the odd pence came from. I'd spent an odd amount of pounds on the Visa, so appying 0.5% yielded a half penny which they rounded down, before doubling it (because of the offer).0 -

Still no sign of my cards, does everyone else have theirs? The little card symbols on my internet banking have changed to the new cards. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0
