Hi guys, just found this thread - very useful!
One thought that crossed my mind; Im in the middle of a mortgage application - when the mortgage lender does a credit report for me, could this somehow cause me problems? I'm worried it might look like I've just taken out two credit cards.0 -

No. It'll look the same as it always has on your credit report. Just one card and the old entry will be updated with the new account.0 -

I actually had written confirmation of this from Barclaycard too.0 -
Hi Can someone bring me up to speed. I can't really read 30 odd pages of comments.
I've a ex Egg Barclaycard cc card. I was paid cash back in March, but hadn't noticed when I phoned Barclaycard.
Barclaycard have said my anniversary date is in December and I'll get £25 then, which is odd.
Now, I just wondered did Barclaycard stop offering cash back in March as my April and May statements don't show any cash back earned and will I get anything in December ?? If I won't get anything I'll close my account now.Stephen0 -
Well, we have the same problem with the new cards as we did when the old egg cards were replaced by Barclaycard Mastercards - My new Amex card won't work in the automated fuel pumps at Morrisons. It can be used in the kiosk only.
I wonder how long it will take to sort this out.We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.
The earth needs us for nothing.
The earth does not belong to us.

You will get it. Barclaycard is just being slow with updating their website with the new cards and information. If you want it now, make a complaint and you'll probably get it paid as a 'goodwill gesture'. That's what happened with me.0 -
Dear Mr....
Thanks for your message
I am sorry to learn of the difficulties that you are experiencing problem while viewing your cashback online and I would like to apologise for the inconvenience that you are being caused.
May I confirm that the cashback details have not been lost, they're not available online during the account migration period to your new product for a short time . Whilst we do not have a fix date as yet we can assure you that this is being managed at a high level with appropriate priority attached to it.
Should you have any further queries, please get in touch.
Kind Regards

Reading more of this thread makes me shake my head with disbelief at Barclaycard and its ways. The amount of compensation they are paying out must be huge, surely indicative of an indication that 1) they did their calculations on their high-paying cashback cards really badly and 2) they know they are on shaky ground regarding their unilateral change and it being for the benefit of customers (which clearly, in most cases, it is not). I earned literally hundreds of pounds in cashback (mainly thanks to the very tasty 4% anniversary) last year and am already on about £200 this year. No way will I be able to earn anything like this amount on 0.5%/1%.
Furthermore, it is abundantly clear that Barclaycard's systems are simply not up to it - there always seem to be little glitches appearing. I frequently get untoward small pending transactions totals (eg 0.20 or 0.40). When I raised this with Barclaycard they simply didn't believe me and they have ignored the screen capture I sent them.
Finally, with everyone else (seemingly) being offered double cashback for 6 months I wrote another letter of complaint (already got £50 + £15). They have given me a further £30 and told me that double cashback is impossible on my account, but that all customers are dealt with on an individual basis.
Is there anyone out there who had a new (ie non-egg or otherwise migrated) barclaycard account paying initially 5% cashback (up to £120) on the 1st 2 months then 2% on top 5 transactions and 4% on the anniversary?
Thanks

Just using old money card for one of the last times. It was 1% cashback right and has anyone actually gone through the extended warranty claim process?
I should probably write down the details of it while its still listed, no doubt staff will deny any knowledge of its existance in a years timeFinally, with everyone else (seemingly) being offered
They wiped my cashback out, hopefully it bobs back up at some point after they've torpedo'd this card0
