Barclaycard World MasterCard (Ex Egg Money) Being Replaced with Amex + Visa Combo
Comments

Has anyone else found the transactions are a lot slower to update now that they've changed to Amex/Visa? I used to be able to see my recent transactions a day or two after I made them (depending on the retailer) but now it's taking about a week!
I haven't figured out whether it's just the Amex or if it's both but I'm finding it a bit irritating - especially because they seem to drop off the pending transactions total after a few days but still aren't listed.0 -
to disappear from Pending when still not having appeared as a Transaction doesn't seem right at all. i would assume they will sort this.
i havent received the cards yet...my main spending cards are Amex and a Barclaycard Visa, and both appear as transactions in a couple of working days. the 'Pending' showing for the Barclaycard Visa is sometimes quite useful.0 -

Yep same here.
They take ages to appear as a pending transaction. And then once pending, after a couple of days the actual balance will be correct and pending goes back to zero, but the transaction still doesn't appear on the statement for another few days.0 -
My June statement has been produced (relatively early in their random date selection, but with a relatively long payment period).
Cashback has been recorded at 2% on the World Mastercard & Amex and 1% on the Visa. There was some odd rounding of 1p.
Request cashback button became available so requested that. The pop up that follows implied cashback will be credited when next months statement is produced (along with cashback for that month) and counts as a credit, not a payment.
Plus I'll get my £15 for spending £300 in addition to the above in July.0 -
The "pending transaction" problem sounds like what was happening with the Mastercard in the run up to migration but has somehow been applied to the new cards (my guess).
I wonder if this may somehow be the cause of the double cashback problem as well or whether they are separate problems.
Bearing in mind Barclaycard seem to be very keen to avoid cases going to the FOS, those with issues will eventually come out on top I reckon.0 -

I encountered this problem on the weekend, very inconvenient :mad:0 -
Amex worked when I went into the Tesco kiosk to pay for the petrol.0

My cashback shows £50.04 earned this month, with the only detail being Visa, which says it is paying at 0.5%. However, the amount of £6.54 has been calculated at 1% (and a random 3.5p). My calculations show I should be due another £17.37 based on Mastercard at 1% and £8.66 based on Amex at 2%. However, as all that lot only adds up to £32.57, so even if they've already added the £15 bonus, I still seem to be £2.47 further up than I should be...0

My statement was generated today and 5 days of transactions all appeared overnight. Very strange.0 -
