Barclaycard World MasterCard (Ex Egg Money) Being Replaced with Amex + Visa Combo

I've had both cards and was surprised not to be asked to ring up and "activate" them, as has been the case in the past. I tried to use Visa card over the phone and it didn't work. So I tried the old Mastercard one which was accepted. Later I tried the Visa card online and it didn't work. I entered the correct details and then got to the dreaded "Verified by Visa", with the Barclaycard logo. It asked me to enter my email address, name on the card, last 3 digits from the back of the card and date of bitrth. I did this and it insisted they were wrong, even though I checked and they were certainly right. The transaction was declined.
I then tried again with the Amex card and this did work (but thankfully I wasn't prompted for anything similar to Veirifed by Visa). I rang Barclaycard and they have told me they will send me new cards again. I said it can't be a problem with the physical cards, since all I'm doing is typing in numbers from them, but they insisted. It sounds to me more like they have put the wrong details into the Verified by Visa system and it just needs to be correct. It seems then I will have to wait for new cards again. Has this happened to anyone else?0 -

I had the same problem using the VISA card online. Then I tried it in a shop (where it worked) and then I was able to use it online next time. I think using it in a shop maybe activates it?0 -
Just had my June statement and no double cash back as promised. Complaint lodged. When are these cowboys going to get their act together?0

thanks for you for this information0

I've heard nothing back from my complaint about the non-double CB in 5 days. Send them another poke.0

Has anybody received the double cashback?
I also spent over £300 last month, have anyone received the £15 bonus?0 -
Barclaycard told me:You will receive a £15 welcome bonus if you spend £300 in the first 3 months. Once you have hit your £300 spend, the £15 bonus is paid on you next statement.
So it will probably appear on next months statement.0 -
I've also just received June statement and no double cashback. The amount calculated seems to agree to 1% Amex / Mastercard and 0.5% Visa.
I spent just under £300 so wouldn't be due the extra £15 yet anyway.
Is there any reason not to request the cashback monthly by pressing the £Request cashback" button?0 -
Might be best to wait for them to sort out the CB before requesting it.0

My June statement has been produced (relatively early in their random date selection, but with a relatively long payment period).
Cashback has been recorded at 2% on the World Mastercard & Amex and 1% on the Visa. There was some odd rounding of 1p.
Lucky you. Just had my June statement and no double cashback as promised.0
