Cards arrived. Off to try them tonight.

On a different note, is anyone else's online account taking a while to show MasterCard transactions since their account was migrated? I know I've bought things in the last few days, but my pending transactions is zero and they haven't show up yet. Will this delay be because I'm using MasterCard on an Amex/Visa account? Perhaps transactions have to be manually added??

I cancelled and have moved to Amazon, they started going on about double cash back aka what I already had, but left anyway. I hate the two tiered customer service, those that complain get double.I have enough agro with virginmedia getting a deal, don't need it on a credit card Plus you have to monitor it to make sure you get it.

I did it the day after they announced thousands of redundancy's so the customer service levels will inevitably drop

Thanks for the advice on this thread, now £20 credit to CC and double cashback for 6 months.

Sent the complaint last night at 10:20pm and have just got off the phone to the customer services chap.

Initially only offered the double cashback, but I pressed on the loss of a mastercard, carrying an extra card when there is a move to less and loss of extended warranty for upcoming purchases.

Didn't mention that others had got a better account credit, happy enough with the above for 5 minutes work!

Yes, I bought some items over the weekend with the Mastercard. The contactless stuff never shows up until the day it's posted, but I'd also Chip+PIN'd some items and they all turned up yesterday (Pending stayed 0.00 throughout).

There is an icon on my last statement next to every transaction saying the Mastercard card has been cancelled (it hasn't yet), but I would not be surprised if there was some sort of mechanism for transferring transactions over now (they have had some practice when the Egg Money went to the World Mastercard).

My new Barclaycard Cashback Visa worked yesterday for an online transaction straightaway and the Amex worked in a shop immediately as well. Both transactions showing as pending.

No new cards for me, and my account still says "Barclaycard World Mastercard". Pending transactions showing as normal.

Feeling a bit left out :(

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who posted about getting the £50 credit and double cashback -- I've now had £50 credited to my account, and hopefully will also still be getting the double cashback that they initially offered. Result!

I got no response to my messages except a 'holding' letter saying it could take weeks to answer so, after some time, I finally sent another message telling them to stuff their new cards.

Then a statement came through and it showed that they had credited £30 and £50 to my account, though I still know nothing about double cashback.

It's kindof a result but with management like that I'm still not going to stay with BCard.
I finally got a letter today after nearly a month, telling me about the £50, and saying the extra £30 is because my account doesn't qualify for the double cashback for six months.

It changes nothing as far as I'm concerned, though, the old card will be scrapped when I've used up the £80 and the new ones as soon as they are received.

My account has now changed over to Barclaycard Cashback, so presumably my cards will arrive soon too.

Anyone here use the Barclaycard Android app? I tried to log in last night and it said my card details were not recognised. I tried again, and it had reset everything. I presume this is normal and I'll just have to re-register the app when I have my new card number.
  • I think its quite amusing... we are all quite happy as we are getting 'double cash back'.... but all we are getting in reality is exactly what we have now... ie 1%....

But the £50 + the bonus will be handy... then its ditch and switch.. I have taken out the Amazon card already and I am already using it for Amazon purchases (where there are some cracking deals AND vouchers... handy, if not quite so good as hard ££)

It's 2% when using the Amex don't forget. And I intend to do that wherever I possibly can.

I think the double cashback for six months is a good compromise. It gives me time to check out Amex, whilst at the same time still giving me the 1% on the VISA that I would expect to get on my old Mastercard, so I don't lose out.

So basically I'm seeing it as a six month trial period.

If at the end of the six months I'm not happy with Amex then I can look for something else. Not that there's anything any good available right now.
