Hi Everyone
I have been following this thread and complained to Barclaycard and was offered the £50 and double cashback from migration of the account.
The £50 was offered within 48 hours which hasn't happened and the double cashback applies from 1st May but I haven't received the cards yet
I have raised another complaint with them. I originally complained by secure message and within two hours I had a response and a Barclaycard Representative on the phone asking me to accept their offer (£50 and double cashback)
As I have received neither yet I feel they have not honoured their promise and the complaint is not settled.There is no snooze button on a cat who wants breakfast0 -
Just been notified that another of my Barclaycard accounts (ex-Morgan Stanley) is also being migrated to the new Barclaycard Cashback by July, so I'm going to end up with two pairs of these new cards!
The outgoing card is rubbish though, not better than the new card duo, so I guess no chance of another £50 credit for complaining!0 -

Thanks for the heads up. Barclaycard actually dealt with most of my complaint by written correspondence, and it explicitly states in a letter I was then that I will get the double cashback and £50. If any of you haven't done so already, I'd get in touch with them and ask for a written summary of the complaint to be sent to you. That way, if they do get arsey and deny ever offering the double cashback, you'll have it there in writing.0 -

I had two cards, an ex Egg (World) card and and an ex Morgan Stanley. I got offered £50 on each even though as you say the new card is actually better than the ex Morgan Stanley. They wouldn't give me the double cash back on the ex Egg card though, saying it wasn't available but instead gave me £100. So a total of £150 upfront already credited plus the £15 for the £300 spend to come. Happy with that!
As far as I can see all the major retailers tale Amex now so I see this pretty much as free money.0 -
I got no response to my messages except a 'holding' letter saying it could take weeks to answer so, after some time, I finally sent another message telling them to stuff their new cards.
Then a statement came through and it showed that they had credited £30 and £50 to my account, though I still know nothing about double cashback.
It's kindof a result but with management like that I'm still not going to stay with BCard.0 -
My latest Barclaycard statement arrived and when I looked online there was no mention of any accrued cashback from March to last month, the only mention of "Cashback" is in the title of the card(s) of which pictures have appeared instead of the World one at the top of the statement.0

For anyone that is looking to close their account instead of paying to call Barclaycard on their 0844 number (not premium rate, but also not included on mobiles or landline inclusive minutes) here are two alternative numbers from the saynoto0870 page - I've personally used the first one and it works fine:

Personally I think it's a bit poor that the only way they will close your account is if you call them rather than using secure message and then if you weren't aware of these numbers they'd be making money off your call as well.
I called last week to close my account and was asked twice if I wanted a letter to confirm which I said yes both times, and had to provide my address both times (groan). The customer service just isn't there I'm afraid, and it got my goat up straight away with the typical - how are you today? response immediately when answering the call.
Incidentally my account is still open and accessible despite me asking for it to be closed last week.0 -
Fired off message on their internal system complaining about the 2 cards instead of 1.
Got a reply in 49 minuets offering £50 and double cashback.
Result.0 -
My cards arrived today.
The 01604 230 230 number is also quoted on their website for customer services and lost/stolen.
I rang the + 44 1604 269 900 number on the back of the card and firstly it plays a message saying "international operator charges accepted" or similar. Useful if abroad for contacting them reverse charge.0
