There are some occasions when only MasterCard is accepted. Take the Olympics in 2012 - didn't they have a deal with MasterCard so all transactions had to be MasterCard? That was certainly the case for online ticket purchases.
It was Visa rather than Mastercard for the Olympics but you make a good point.0 -
I've been to a few places in south America that only take MasterCard and Amex but not Visa.0

When Barclaycard first communicated the changes they offered £15 cashback for the first £300 spent on the new cards.
A few people said they would get the £15 and then close the account. Does that mean Barclaycard are now paying out the cashback on a monthly basis?0 -

Yes. That's one of the new features listed in the very same letter that told you about the initial £15 bonus cashback.0 -
So that's three times better than Halifax Reward; equivalent to 5% cashback.

Your cashback will be paid on your account anniversary date, unless you request for it to be credited sooner. Your cashback anniversary date will transfer over from your existing card. You can also choose to receive your cashback a maximum of once in each statement month.0 -
Well I can easily use up £300. I pay my council tax each month via the cashback card and I put the monthly fuel for the car on the card.0
