Barclaycard World MasterCard (Ex Egg Money) Being Replaced with Amex + Visa Combo

i have had a call from them today...
they have told me they are unable to offer me DoubleCB
they have given me a further credit instead..
to be fair, im not too disappointed. i have earned some good CB on this card, and i can still generate some good CB on my Amex card.
with other things i have going on i can tidy up my credit file,
and hopefully move my limit across to my other Barclaycard to give me a card with a great limit for doing a BT when the time comes.0 -
I don't use Barclays but the new card's look nice lol

Just found out that customers who currently hold more than one cashback card (e.g. ex-Egg + ex-Morgan Stanley) are being treated as a special case, which means that they won't have received any letter informing them of the change yet, and once the change occurs, it will only be possible to have one account paying cashback.
I assume that this means that if you've got more than one card, one will morph into "Amex + Visa" and the other one will be merged.
In my case, the timeline is "end of April" = notification, and "end of June" = new cards.0 -
I only noticed this thread on Thursday and decided to send a secure message on thursday night complaining that it was a degradation of the card and that I felt I should be entitled to the compensation mentioned in this thread. On Friday morning I received a secure message saying that they would give me the double cash back and £50 credit to my account. The £50 appeared today. So it is still worth complaining for anyone who hasn't done it.0

Interestingly since I sent my last message to them indicating I wish to close my account they have gone all silent and have chosen to ignore me. So far have waited 5 days for a response from their '24 hour response' secure messaging system. Is the courtesy of an acknowledgement to much to ask these days?0

Mine were ex Egg and Morgan Stanley and according to BC today a letter advising of the changes will be sent out shortly. Also they advised both accounts will be converted so I will end up with four cards.0 -
I put in a complaint today and within an hour had a call from Barclaycard. They apologised and as a 'valued customer' (not sure how... I hardly use the card and pay no interest!) I was offered double cashback on both cards for 6 months.
I then pointed out that I knew people were getting the £50 credit. She went off to speak to her manager and 30 seconds later came back and said AGAIN as a 'valued customer' she put it into account in the next 24 hrs. All very easy!!
Good week for me this one.. £100 back from my cpp claim and £50 here. OH had a win on the horses and cycling and gave me £120.
Edited to say Thank you to everyone on this thread!£2019 in 2019 #44 - 864.06/20190 -
Second complaint in today to complain about their lack of response or acknowledgement to the first complaint, will be 7 days tomorrow without an update or acknowledgement.0

You might like to see my post, and give them a call:
Annoyed at Barclaycard's plan to issue TWO cards to replace my existing 1% cashback MasterCard (one from AmEx also paying 1%, plus a Visa card paying just 0.5% for places AmEx isn't accepted) I rang to cancel my card - only to be offered double cashback for six months on both cards, free of any fees, to keep me as a customer! I was totally surprised by this, but pleased. Has anyone else tried it? If not, it might be worth a call.0
