Nor me; are people still receiving them or have they stopped going out?

Possibly. I haven't used my ex-Egg Money card since it's transfer to Barclaycard and even had a small +ve balance on it.

Phoned them and was initially offered double cashback, but very easily and quickly got that changed to a £50 credit.

However, and even though I plan to close the card next month anyway, I tried to get double cashback as well (just to see if it was possible!) but got nowhere.

YB - I think I'm in the same boat as you, having not used my card since the move from Egg. My letter from B'card doesn't seem to have the £15 for £300 spend offer that others are referring to. Is that the same with you?

I was hoping to talk them into offering me:
    - £50
    - double cash back for 6 months
    - matching the £15/£300 offer

But it sounds like that's going to be difficult (if you can't do it, probably no one can!).
If I had a pound for every time I didn't play the lottery...

My wife's got a High5 card - what's the best offer others have got with this card? So far we've been offered £65, but no other sweeteners (they said they couldn't do the double cash back deal for those with this account). We need to decide whether to take it or push for more!

  • After stumbling on this forum I emailed last night saying I wasn't happy with having an Amex card given I use my card in lots of local restaurants and independent shops which are unlikely to accept it.

Had an email response within an hour saying they would double the cashback on each card for 6 months and give a goodwill credit of £30.

I declined asking why there had been other people offered £50....immediate email response saying they would match the £50, double the cashback for 6 months and confirmed the £15 credit for spending £300.

For information i have had my card since it was an egg cc and spend on average £600 a month on it.

Thanks for all who share there experiences, it gives you confidence to put up a bit of a fight!

i seem to have got into an official complaint scenario now, when all i want to do is get someone sensible on the 'phone:idea:

"A written acknowledgement of your complaint within 5-7 working days, including contact details of the Customer Relationship Team.
If your complaint is likely to take longer to investigate, the team will keep you informed of the progress via written correspondence.
Barclaycard take complaints seriously and the comments made by our customers help us to identify where we can improve in the future.

I sent an email to their complaints dept last night and advised them I was unhappy with their proposed changes. They sent me a very nice email back and have credited my account with £50.00 and apologise for the inconvenienced caused.

Best to keep the complaining simple without going down the big official complaints scenario. This is why some are still awaiting an outcome.

Me too. All I want is my 50 quid and they can forget the complaint.

The "offers" aren't based on the cardholder being a high spender.

My earned cashback is under a £1 in nearly a year (used as a direct debit mule for Halifax Reward cashback - so very small spending that gets settled by DD each month).

I got the £15 for spending £300 letter. then sent a secure message (as an official complaint) which resulted in double cashback. I then sent another message saying what about the loss of insurance - and got the £50 added as well.

So those wondering whether to call, it think it is worth a secure message (or two!) I would say!

From what I can see, those with the former Egg accounts are generally being offered the £15 for spending £300, double cashback for 6 months and a £50 goodwill payment. This is what I will strive for on my World Mastercard.

What is the best that anyone with a "high 5" cash back card has managed to secure? So far I've been offered £65 but none of the other short term improved cashback terms.
