I also have sent a secure message as I too was an egg card holder originally. I used the advice on here eg disappointment in the changes, querying how this is a simplification for me, saying how Am Ex is limited and so will be forced to use visa more and hence dropping to 0.5% often as well as the loss of the extras such as insurances etc.
Received a reply quickly offering the 6 months doubling of the rates and £40 goodwill gesture. I refused the offer saying I had found out others had received £50 and so would be happy to be treated the same. Got a reply offering the double rate plus £50.

So thank you all so much -I would never have thought to do this by myself - the power of a community :T

    Full £200.

Already received my shiny new Amazon cards and will close Barclaycard once I get the £15 bonus, and Im still hoping to be offered the extra bonus.

Thinking of taking one out. Do they set up a direct debit option so that the payment in full can be taken every month so I don't have to think about it?

Yes - got mine all sorted out - full amount to be paid off each month But Watch out JUST IN CASE the FIRST PAYMENT needs to be done manually...

:money:Had the same 'Offer' from Barclays... but I have just got my Full £200 cash back for this year.
Will get the intro bonus, and the 6 months at 1% then it is getting ditched and all going onto my Amazon Card..

After a brief spell of secure message ping-pong, I got the 6-months double cashback plus a goodwill gesture of 50 quid :T

They also honoured my requests not to phone, and all communication was handled via the messaging system. Quite impressed, actually.

Ditto Here.. in fact the £50 hit my card today as a 'Goodwill' however they have not actually told me about it!!!

Just got full £200 cash back this month as well... and the 1% rate for 6 months Plus the £15 intro bonus...

I will still be ditching Barclaycard after the 6 months.
I have taken out Amazon Card
I am also switching to Santander 123
    And re-mortgaging and ditching Barclays....

So all in all their 'Special Offer' will loose them 100% of my business and a total loss of any earnings from me...

Fair play to you - I'd do exactly the same if I had anything else with Barclays.
