Will get the intro bonus, and the 6 months at 1% then it is getting ditched and all going onto my Amazon Card..
I just got my £32 bonus, not a big Spender here
I had to work for it, the guy wanted me to be happy with the double cash back for 6 months offer he gave me and asked where I'd got the idea of £50 credit from, I just said people that are as peed off as I that you've changed things for the worse.
With the new cards where I can take my cash backmonthly I'll make sure I use all the cash back during the 6 months where I'm getting double cash back and then it'll be bye bye Barclaycard, which reminds me, I must go and get an Amazon card before they pull the decent rates.Live long and prosper0 -
6 months double cash back and £50 credited to my account :j
Thanks everyone .....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0 -
I've sent my message and got a callback and spoke to two different people. When asking specifically if cashback promotional rate could be applied was offered nothing and told something like: "we never do that." Clearly not true, so in what form are people receiving these confirmations that cashback rates will be boosted for six months? A messaged reply? A letter?
I received a phone call about 4 hours after I had sent my complaint by secure message.Live long and prosper0 -

So now they are changing your cards, and are blatantly lying to you! Nice one Barclays!
As many people on here have done, I simply messaged them indicating my dissatisfaction with the new cards and loss of purchase insurance, and quoting the deal everyone else has been offered. I got a call to ask if I'd read the reply they'd sent me. When I said I hadn't looked yet, they said they would give me £50 goodwill gesture and double CashBack for 6 months, and the £15 credit if £300 spent.0 -
I'm making a bit of an assumption here.... but....
Are Barclays offering the £50 and 6 months at 1% to their top spending customers?
I put everything (even the Aldi shopping) on the card... to maximise my cash back.. so have hit £20k spend over the last 3 years.....
ie the more you spend with them (and possibly have other ties ie mortgage/savings etc) the more they try to persuade you to stay?I am NOT a Woman! - its Overland Landy (as in A Landrover that travels Overland)

I too have had no luck so far with negotiating a higher cashback rate. How they think that this is a comparable offer compared to previous is mind boggling. Bye bye Barclays.0

Phoned them and was initially offered double cashback, but very easily and quickly got that changed to a £50 credit.
However, and even though I plan to close the card next month anyway, I tried to get double cashback as well (just to see if it was possible!) but got nowhere.0 -

For me no, I have nothing else with Barclay's and I'm not a big spender as shown by my anniversary cash back this month for the previous 12 months of £32. I expected them to put the £50 'good will' payment on my cash back but, having checked my account this morning it's actually been credited to this month, which means 2/3rds of a tank of diesel has only cost me £9.14Live long and prosper0 -
it's not as simple as higher spenders being looked after.
i was forming the opinion that World customers were able to get the Double Cashback deal, and that High5 customers were not. but there are High5 customers who are saying they now have it.
i am a relatively high spender on High5, but haven't been offered the Double Cashback. i am waiting for a reply via Secure Message, but no joy so far. like some above, i have been told that there is no facility to agree that, and that all enquiries are handled via the same office, and that noone there has any knowledge of such agreements:doh:
either they are fibbing, or All Of You are........:D0 -
Still no letter for me - either my high 5 or world cards.0
