Barclaycard World MasterCard (Ex Egg Money) Being Replaced with Amex + Visa Combo

Long time lurker, but first time poster - just wanted to say thank you to everyone on this thread as I wouldn't have thought to do this myself! I sent a secure message a couple of days ago and got a call back from Barclaycard a few hours later offering the double cashback. Asked them about the £50 goodwill (felt very uncomfortable!) as I had read in the forum, and they credited it my account the next day.

Just to clarify, does the double cashback kick in once we receive the new cards and then continue for 6 months?

Has anyone else NOT received the letter informing them of this changeover from May?

I have a Barclaycard World Mastercard and I haven't received the letter to date.

I already have an Amex credit card, so this will be interesting

Just checked my Barclaycard World online account to find that the £50 "Goodwill" that I complained about not getting has been added to my account

So I've now had that and the double cashback.

I still have not received the letter regarding the impending changes. However I still went ahead and complained and got the £50 goodwill gesture. Also when I tried to get double cash back they would not agree as this was not available on the ex egg card.

Remember we are in a compensation society. Has to be worth another £50 for the stress. You could of course argue you are not being treated fairly as a result of not receiving the letter.

OMG the possibilities of what you could claim for are just endless!!

Interestingly i complained about the degrading of the offering in terms of cashback and insurance and got double cashback for 6 months plus a £50 goodwill gesture.

Then two days later i got an email stating my credit limt had been doubled! :eek: with effeect from early may.

Very strange behaviour if you ask me!
