They offered £50 and double cashback after one email.

But they emailed again and told me it was a mistake

Instead they offered £100 credit :D and no double cashback.

I have the High 5 card. (never had Egg)

I've typed my complaint in word, tried to paste into secure messaging bit it says I am using a character I shouldn't be. Have checked and rechecked but can't figure it out.

what was the solution? It's driving me mad!
I've tried copying into notepad, pasting as text only. Both from PC and Mac and I'm still getting the invalid character message... aaaarrrggghh

On High 5, only £20 for me + £15 if spend >£300 in first 3 months.

Looking to switch to 123 cashback eventually for 3% back on petrol & 2% @ Department stores & 1% @ supermarkets

In the time you have taken to try to solve this issue, you could have typed it directly into the message box :)

Ooh, I thought it was probably the case - there's nothing more I hate than being lied to. If they didn't want to give me the "goodwill gesture" and could explain why I've been treated differently from other customers, that would be fine - but I've been fobbed off with a fib. Off to make my point on Facebook, Twitter and anywhere else I can think of!

i wouldnt accept that. i would tell them that you are aware others are being offered that temporary remedy to the problem they have created, and insist that they stick to their offer.

why not just type it fresh into their messenger? for all their faults, their message system is perfect.

Sent yesterday one complaint message and was offered double cashback for 6 months and confirmed £15 on £300 spend.
Send second message pointing out the 'friend' that was offered the £50 goodwill gesture, and got the £50 credit applied to my account this morning.
    iaye carramba!
