    Well I got a phone call from Barclaycard within an hour of my complaint. First an Indian call centre, who then transferred me to his senior manager, an English lady. No offer was made :-(

    Instead she said that they are asking customers to try the dual card product for 3 months, if they don't like it then they will be able to change to a single card product after 3 months, but couldn't give me any details on this, as it was only decided today - too many complaints re the dual card product?!?

    She did say she'd pass my complaint on and I'll have another call by 9pm tomorrow, so hopefully I'll get offered a deal tomorrow.

    interesting. yes, i had a similar conversation. it was suggested that something was in the offing, but very very vague, and when pushed, very very non-committal.

    Has anyone asked outright for the cashback rate to be doubled, saying they are aware of others receiving that offer , or has everyone left it to Barclaycard to raise this offer?

  • I just made a strongly worded, but courteous complaint via secure message. Does Barclaycard usually reply within the quoted 24 hour response time?

    The rep wrote a long message but said the important bits:
    In view of your experience I am also pleased to inform you that I can double the cash back on your new cards for 6 months from the date of migration which is 01/05/2014. This means that you will be eligible to earn 2% cash back on American express card and 1% on Visa card for 6 months after migration.

    I have also credited your Barclaycard account with £50 as a gesture of goodwill. you will be able to view this credit online after 48 working hours and on your next monthly statement.

    £50 and double cashback for about 5 minutes work. Not bad! :)

  • Not doing well with this. I sent a secure message and got the offer of 2% cashback for 6 months by secure message, then a phone call in the day from the indian call centre, I mentioned the lack of insurance benefits on the new card and they offered me £20. The guy went to put the offers on my account and had some trouble so transferred me to the UK call centre, who told me there was no such offer as the double cashback and has said that she will credit me £25 for the inconvenience. She also said that I would get the new card in July, I pointed out that this contradicted the letters sent out - she seemed surprised I had a letter even. Anyway, I have sent another secure message stating that they need to send some coherent information to me about the card as at the moment nobody at Barclaycard seems to have the slightest clue what is going on...

    I sent a secure message at 21:42 this evening expressing my unhappiness, and specifically requesting the double cashback for 6 months and £50 gesture of goodwill.


    Just received a reply from them offering me both! :beer:
