Barclaycard World MasterCard (Ex Egg Money) Being Replaced with Amex + Visa Combo

I've had a written response to my complaint today. Really no further forward.

Usual blurb starting off with 'we will not be upholding your complaint'.

'We are unable to stop your account changing unless you close your account prior to migration.' err I did say this in my complaint and have said this in pretty much all correspondence to you?

They have also refused my counteroffer of 1% on the Visa element (shame!).

In justification they made parallels of getting the same cashback with the Amex that you currently do with the mastercard. I know some people have a better experience with acceptance, but I personally don't.

In relation to the two cards and effect on credit score, I enclose the exact text from the letter below grammatical errors and all :

'I would like to assure you that although there will be two cards issued in the Barclaycard Cashback Dual account it will actually not show any different to your account with us does now. Having two cards on the one account will not have negative impact on your credit score.'

They then go onto refute the poor responses i'd had so far and said the information given had been factually correct and that they will not be taking this further with their staff.

This is classed as a final response from Barclaycard.

Kinda what I expected - will wait until my cashback is paid then will close the account.

Nothing here, just an apologetic customer service rep who said they've had a lot of complaints.

I've just remembered that my other Barclaycard (A Barclaycard Gold which was previously a Sky Reward card which I have kept for balance transfers) is also a Mastercard. I wonder what will happen to it? I have yet to hear anything from Barclaycard about it.

The grey Barclaycard World Mastercard. This was previously the black Egg Money card. I think I opened it in 2008/09 and it was converted to Barclaycard in 2011.

I sent an email yesterday and got 2 emails from Barclaycard this morning.

One said:-

Considering the fact that you have been with us from a long time, I am able to tag an offer on your account with the help of which you will be able to earn double the rate of cashback for 6 months from the date the account migrates. If it resolves the matter to your satisfaction, may I request you to please ?reply? to this e-mail so that the necessary arrangements can be done to tag this offer on your account.

Then 15 mins later I got a 2nd email stating to ignore the previous email and now they offered:-

Considering the fact that you have been with us from a long time, I am able to credit your account with £50.00. If it resolves the matter to your satisfaction, may I request you to please ?reply? to this e-mail so that the necessary arrangements can be done to tag this offer on your account.

Obviously I have accepted £50.
