    Similar thing here last night.
    MrsA: "Want a drink?"
    Me: "Ooh yeah coffee please"
    MrsA: "Oh. :( No wine?""
    Me: "Nope, gotta be good"

    .... felt so proud lol.

Well done Alex I did exactly the same, got back from the gym my spagbol on the table and I said NO. I know it wont last as we are off on hols on Thursday but it cant be bad to be good before I go.

Thanks for all the amzing stories on here I don't think anyone is in danger of becoming a diet bore. It is just so nice to read about other peoples successes and failures. It makes you feel good when others do well.

Hope this post wontbe the only one for 5 hours like yesterday.

Ive set myself mini targets all along the road - chopping and changing from lbs to stone... my last one was to pass 6 stones, my next one is to pass 90lbs. I had a skirt that I couldnt get on by any stretch of the imagination. now I can wear it and its much too big at the waist. I tried it on once a week at my weigh in and it was brilliant seeing the difference. I also take a photo every month. one side view, one front view its so motivating to compare them and see such a difference!!

I havent really had any difficult times, it all seemed to click in January, and I can say hand on heart Ive not deviated one single day. Ive had nights out, christenings etc but managed to incorporate it into my points. I try and save a few points every day and on a Monday (after my wi) I have a Chinese Take Away and a few glasses of wine. I really think treats are SO important.

Sorry if Ive rambled on a bit but once I get started I AM indanger of being a diet bore ;)

...... no Starlight, you are in danger of being another of the site's diet inspirations. I think your attitude to it is spot on, and the reason it works for you so well is that you understand the importance of short-term, achievable mini-targets and treats. You are nevr going to lose weight if you say "Right, I'm aiming for 5 stone in this year and that's my next target. I'm having no more naughty nights 'til I get there." Like you I have a take away (Indian in my case) and a bottle of wine after weigh-in. Dieting after that is not so hard as the next naughty night is only 5 then 4 then 3......... nights away.

I think its a wonderful, responsible way of getting around the bigger issue of making ourselves better people for us and those we love. I only wish I as better with words so that this ddn't come across as patronising.

    Hope you are ok now?...

Anything for you beanie :DI'm glad to see that, like me, you use such technical words as thingy it saves a lot a lot of brain-ache :rotfl: anyway here is the recipe for Courgette Gratin I hope you enjoy it! I'm feeling a lot better - thanks for asking...

...starlight Thank you so much for your story, I can now remember that you mentioned the photos the other week, it's a brilliant idea, I wanted to do a similar thing but just couldn't face looking at them and now I regret not having taken them They would be a constant reminder and incentive to help me maintain. The mini targets are another good idea that have proved to help a lot of folk here, including me. Please put a link to your other forum (did you say previously that you are a moderator there?) Lainie did a link to hers. It was an inspiring post :T ...

1lb off this week. Not very impressed with that after a maintain last week but I guess every little helps. The thing that bothers me is that I have been consistantly good since January and in the last 2 weeks my weight loss has slowed right down (even though I still have quite a long way to go). Has anyone else found this? Is it that the body gets used to the eating pattern and needs a change?

Anyway, I am relieved to have reached the 30kg weight loss (66lbs). Next target is to get down into the next stone which I will achieve if I lose more than 1 lb next week. Bring it on...

starlight - how much more do you want to lose? You have done so well...
