suggs I have not got round to maintaining or anything like the long term yet because it was last week that I was stopping getting the last 1lb off and now this week for some unknown inexplicable bizarre strange than fiction have lost another 3 lb:D so yes I like you am dreading maintaining too:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: no, there will be no rewards for me either, we are off to sunny spain for 6 weeks next week but no, I did get the odd hair cut and buy the odd clothes but then I met the car boot sale man and he churns out knock off gear so my wardrobe is choker:rotfl: :rotfl:
My actual mental reward would be belly pork with all the fat left on and collect the dripping on loads of bread, a whole pizza to myself, masses of cheese(oh I remember that was how I used to it not allowed to eat that way anymore:rotfl: )0 -
Thanks Suggs, i'll keep it in mind, maybe next week it will start to happen.
I could still sit down and cry, its been a very hard week for, what it seems today, nothing.
Well heres looking forward to this next week.
Vixx try not to let it get to you, if your cutting down on the crisps, biccies and the like, then things will happen. I tend to suffer with 2 or 3 weeks of 1lb losses when Im convinced it should be more, then I seem to lose 4lb or so for no reason, nothing more or less is eaten, the gym regime is still roughly the same, but that seems to be how my body works

I'm still getting my head around SW today, here's what i've had so far-
1 banana (free)
fruit n fibre (HeB)
Skimmed milk (HeA)
Wagamamas - noodles (free) lots of veg (free) a little chicken and a few tiny shrimps (i figure this is HeB 2?)
i live with my parents at the mo so dinner's not really up to me, but i think it will be omelette or rice.
Ok had dinner - it was rice, with stir fried veg, soya beans and ham. I think it's all free except the ham which is 3 syns according to the book.

I think it's more a case of mystified rather than offended Laine - this is a wonderful self help group where members offer non judgemental help and advice to each other, as reading the thread will show. All welcome, whatever you need to lose and by what ever method you choose.
Kat mad: what I have for breakfast green & red days
I don't like cereal very much so here goes:

113g cod (HEb on green days or free on red) & poached egg and steamed brochli
2x quorn sausages, poached egg mushrooms and grilled toms

Hello everyone
I am just keeping peeps updated. I have lost a further 2lb so far so thats 8lb in total. I will weight myself again on Saturday as thats my weekly weigh in.
From today I am going on the treadmill twice a day so that will be about 8km and probs will burn off 1000 calories a day.
I just wanted to ask Suggs or anyone else who can answer this question. Last year when I went on a diet there were a few weeks where I hit a plateau(sp?) and the weight would just not shift at all. I have a feeling this was because I was not eating much then doing a lot of excercise during the day.
If I burn off 1000 cals a day how much should I be taking in if you see what I mean?
Thanks and good look the remaining losers"He's a maniac, maniac that's for sure,

Maniac, my advice would be to check out the calorie counter website as used by a lot of us here to see what kind of calorie intake you would need. the link is here.
If you register and put in your weight, height and activity levels (time, intensity and frequency) and your goal weight it should give you a daily calorie allowance to help you reach this goal. Stick to that and you won't go wrong.....
The only caution I would have to add is this: the key to long term weightloss and maintaining it is making changes that you can sustain. I don't want to rain on your parade, but do you think you can sustain 8km on the treadmill twice a day? I applaud your motivation and dedication, you are amazing, I'm sure you'll be able to keep it up.
As for hitting a plateau - the key to overcoming it is more exercise but maybe changing the exercise you do, your body will become accustomed to the exercise you are doing quite quickly, that's why gym instructors will change your program every 6 weeks. It might also be changing what you eat, If you eat lots of carbs, eat more protein etc. It may just be that you're not eating enough. I always find the weeks I eat loads of vegetables are the weeks when I lose the most. ... so eat your greens.!

Cheers for that. I don't think it will be much of a problem doing the 8km a day as thats what I used to do for months at a time when I lost most my weight last year, then put it back on:mad: . Luckily for me I don't have to go to the gym for excercise as I already have a treadmill in the house. Obviously if I am unwell or not able to do it cos of injury then I will cut down my usage
I don't eat that many carbs tbh as I know if I start to eat too many my weight will increase again!
I suppose I just have to adjust my patterns each week to see whats right for me!:D"He's a maniac, maniac that's for sure,
