    Hello all

I'm very angry, frustated and to say the least disappointed. Just been to weigh myself and i havn't lost a single pound. I am very shocked as i feel i have done so well, from going to having 2 to 3 packets of crisps a day to none, and no biscuits cos if i open a packet i'll eat the lot, no fried food etc. and i'm still the same

Various thoughts ran through my head, ie whats the point, wheres the chocolate etc. but the simplest thing is i don't want to be this big anymore, i want to be SLIM again

You and me use the same sort of mint targets then efrieze :) As i say, every little target helps, fingers crossed for your 1lb loss 30kg is a fantasic result as will be the 5stone 4lbs after that :D So how are you going to treat yourself?

In fact does anyone have a reward lined up for hitting either the mini targets or the goal weight?

I don't really use material things to motivate me. I am going to Australia in January for my 30th birthday (eek!) and I am thinking of it as a second honeymoon. It will be 5.5 years since we got married and when I think of Australia, I think of golden sands and glorious sunshine and beach babes/bums. I want to be thin and confident in a swimsuit (not a bikini - I doubt that will ever happen) so that I can enjoy the holiday without my usual self-consiousness. This is my target and achieving it will be my reward. I started swimming quite a few weeks ago and with each stroke I say to myself 'Aus-tral-ia, Aus-tral-ia' to remind myself why I am doing it. I didn't start the diet because of the trip but it is a handy target to focus on.

Vixx, many things can cause what seems to be a great week not transferring onto the scales. I still hold to the theory that it can take a week for it to start happening? Your doing so well in not eating the crisps and cutting the biccies, maybe a little more time is needed for things to start.

In my experience the body will recognise the start of a diet as potenially starvation and will hold onto to everything it gets, in case you stop eating. In time it understands your not starving and it will release what its holding onto.

Keep going, you can and will start to see some promising results.

Was just thinking... with so many new peeps, people looking for inspiration, whether the real stars of the show (yes you, Suggs, Victory, Petrichor et al) could post some before and after pics if they are game, and if that is allowed on here?

  This one stopped me in my tracks   I couldn't afford to pay out all the claims for the breaches of your human rights for inflicting cruel and unnecessary punishment ffl4hou.gifffl4hou.gif I'll give it a think and if I ever go back to drinking...

...katmad I only ever do green days so haven't posted, but if you want an all green week, I'll do one quite happily.

    Hi All,

Well after having a disasterous week last week I gave myself a good talking to and decided I am now going to follow weigh watchers and this time I'm going to get under 11 stones (an not just 1lb under;) )

Delly, you asked about Paul McKenna, well I used his program along side weight watchers to loose 2.4lb a couple of years ago and for the past year I have been sort of using it on and off to maintain.
I totally agree with everything he says and now recognise when I am emotionally eating rather than eating becasue I'm hungry - Problem is I think to myself "you don't need this you are only eating it becasue your upset" but this thought is immediately followed by "I don't care I'm going to eat it anyway!":rotfl:
I keep trying though and keep listening to his CD, hopefully that in and following weight watchers will help me become a size 12 (size 10 would be nice but I'm trying to be realistic here)

Suggs, I think you asked about rewards, I'm planning on borrowing Petrichor's idea and am rewarding myself with £5 per week for each week I successfully follow weight watchers, I'm not going to classes so am paying myself instead (but only if I can honnestly say I followed the plan). Thanks for the idea Petrichor.

    Hi everyone,

I'd really like to join up, please. I was thinking of waiting for the August thread, but then thought that I might forget, so am doing it now.

I work full time and am in a show all next week, so my meals (and time) are going to be at the bare minimum, so I can't really menu plan or prepare meals like I normally can, so I'm going to start on Sunday 22nd July, which is the day after the last night. I will menu plan for starting from that day, and post the meals here.

My husband is very keen to kick start our healthy eating with the Slim Fast plan - is that a very BAD idea? I've looked at the website and it seems to be meal and snack replacements all day using soups, smoothies, bars and milkshakes, and then a meal in the evening. I've never done it before, although he has, and I was just wondering whether it would be better to eat healthily/count calories.

    Any advise would be appreciated.

How do I join the club - do I post my starting weight, or my intended weight loss, and then update weekly?

Thank you - I'm delighted to have found you all!

Suggs Marigold is vegetable stock in powder form and adds much more flavour that the stock cubes. You can get it in Tesco. I use it to flavour rice, couscous and HM soup. yum!

Welcome rumblytum. There are several challenges you can join in. The first is the 2lb club where you set yourself a weekly weightloss goal of 2lbs per week. Lois Lane kindly keeps the chart for us. Then there's the monthly 5lbs challenge where we set ourselves a challenge to lose 5lbs by the last Wednesday in the month. If you want to join us in any of these, then pm or post Lois and she'll add you on. You don't need to tell us what you weigh or how much you have to lose unless you want to.

As for slim fast, I gotta say, I admire you for even trying cos I know I love eating too much to give it up. We are all following different plans here, some calorie counting (there's a link to a great website on the first post). Whatever you decide to do, just keep posting and let us know how you get along.
Delly, you asked about Paul McKenna, well I used his program along side weight watchers to loose 2.4lb a couple of years ago and for the past year I have been sort of using it on and off to maintain.

lubo did you mean 2.4lbs or 24lbs? either way, the fact that you've been keeping it off is great! I got the feeling from reading the book that even if you do have a blip, so long as you wait until you're hungry again to eat you'd be ok and not doing any further damage - what do you think?
Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.
Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.
