I got the feeling from reading the book that even if you do have a blip, so long as you wait until you're hungry again to eat you'd be ok and not doing any further damage - what do you think?
I meant 2stone 4 lb (got a bit confused with my decimals)
I think your right about just eating when hungry and if you have a blip but quickly get back to eating when hungry etc they you'll be fine0 -
Hello all
I'm very angry, frustated and to say the least disappointed. Just been to weigh myself and i havn't lost a single pound. I am very shocked as i feel i have done so well, from going to having 2 to 3 packets of crisps a day to none, and no biscuits cos if i open a packet i'll eat the lot, no fried food etc. and i'm still the same
Various thoughts ran through my head, ie whats the point, wheres the chocolate etc. but the simplest thing is i don't want to be this big anymore, i want to be SLIM again
Hi Vixx - sounds like you need a big hug, it's really hard when you go without things you love and it doesn't have the desired effect - when that happens to me I sometimes think - oh what's the point, I might as well have eaten all those things, and it's tempting just to give up.
If you look at it from a different angle though, think of how much benefit you've done for yourself by not eating crisps - all that fat and salt - everytime you go without a bag of crisps you're reducing the likelihood that you'll have a heart attack or a stroke - maybe only a little, but every little helps.
And remember, it's better to maintain than to gain! I know we always say that, but it's true. You've made a great start, and although that hasn't been reflected in weight loss this week, if you keep going, it will - so don't give up. Make sure you're not feeling deprived all the time by including some treats into your eating plan - if you're counting calories you can allow 100 or so a day for a treat. If you're cutting back, don't cut back on everything you like - ration yourself so you're eating less of the high calorie foods but still have some.
Keep your chin up- you'll get to where you want to be.

I keep looking at all those menus for the week and WOW!! what a choice, Lois' Lamb sounds lovely
If you've got a Costco card, get yourself some, that's where they're from. They are in gravy and available in either rosemary and mint flavour, or caramelised onion and balsamic vinegar. In fact does anyone have a reward lined up for hitting either the mini targets or the goal weight?
My reward will be having access to all the clothes in my wardrobe that I'm unable to wear at the moment!

Well done tall girl - it must be so difficult with all the travelling you do to watch what you eat.
rational - read through this thread (when you've some spare time!) and you'll see than the monthly challenge is where you can sign up each month to aim to loose 5 lb by the last wed of the month. It's a super short term goal rather than being overwhelmed by the bigger picture. Just let Lois know you want to sign up and post here each week what you have lost and she posts a table every wed every evening with how we are all doing.
WEIGH IN THIS WEEK
Just been weighed at SW. A 3lb, yes a 3lb loss:j :j :j :j .
A very happy bunny:D
(P.S. LOIS, not sure why, in the table you produced last week, there wasn't a '5' in the 'goal' column next to my name)
Brighton belleI try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Manic, I echo Delly's comments
you need to work out your resting metabolic rate, this will reflect your training regime and calories needed to maintain your weight. from this you can work out how much to reduce your calorie intake to get to your goal. As you say you have done it once, so perhaps Im teaching you to suck an egg
Remember to keep the protein and carb levels up, this will encourage the body to use these as fuel first. 8 km twice a day is plenty and your body will slip into starvation mode if it feels your not fuelling up enough. This could be a reason for the plateau, oddly enough, if you increase your eating a little or change the fuel type, you should start to lose weight again.
Keep going, your doing great and Im sure the downward trend will kick off soon.Proud Member of the Lose Weight Thread on I Wanna..................

Hello everyone
Can I also join the club, if thats okay?
Ive just used the calculators in the first sticky and found I need to lose 4 stone to get to a healthy BMI (no suprise there really!).
I work full time, have an 18 month old child and never seem to have any spare time to prepare meals - consequently I cant seem to lose weight because I eat totally the wrong things. My idea is to eat mainly vegetables for my evening meal, even if they are piled high. Is this a good idea? Im vegetarian so wont miss the meat/fish but Im frightened I will not get enough protein?? Im not really sure how to substitute the meat (if I even have to??). The rest of the family eat meat, so theyre okay, but they all seem so much healthier than me!
The rest of the days arent too bad - when Im at work I am okay - I just take loads of fruit etc with me to snack on!
Sorry to burden you with so many questions - but Im hoping you can help me do it this time!
thanksSealed Pot no 20110
