Sorry only a quick one, just got in and cooking dinner, boil in the bag fish wih new potatos and lots of veg

Victory as always you have outdone yourself, and this time without trying, big well done to you. I think your supporting my theory of what you did last week, applies to the weighin this week? Thanks also for the carrot cake recipe, I didnt realise so much went into the recipe
Well Done also to Retiredlady and petrichor, nice to see a Brit win something at Wimbledon, though Im sure your gutted at your man losing. Good start newlywed, well done to you
Congratulations to Katmad on the job front as well.
Erlqueen, the reponse from petrichor is just spot on, I get that sort of feeling once a week(ish) and every now and then vent my splen on here, I am pretty sure every single one of us, at one time or another, has at some point, hit the wall and asked of themselves why??? I know the leader can be a complete waste of space, but then, so can anyone that tries to support us, be it the parents, the OH or the children and well meaning friends. But then we stop, look at the clothes we used to wear and then of the clothes we are wearing, or look at pictures and then think I can and I will, if only to prove to them I that I can
Did that make any sense? It did in my head

hi. feeling really down today dont know where i am going wrong. i have been doing slimming world for 3 weeks now, the first week i lost 2lb. the second week i messed up and the third week i kinda got back on track and only lost 1lb. slightly disappointed as i have started to exercise regularly for a week now.
.. hi rational. Don't feel down. It's a marathon, not a sprint, and the results will come. There have been times when I have really tried properly, stuck to the plan, weighed in and put a pound on. SO I thought "spheres to that!", went out the next week, had a curry and a load of beer and lost three pounds. It will even itself out in the end I promise you. I dare say your consultant told you not to worry, and keep your chin up and stick with it? They have seen it all before.
... don't "want it so much", don't let it rule your life. The more your fret about it, the more likely you are to drive yourself to the whisky bottle, a big fat cake, the grave, or all three. I know it's really hard, but just try to let it happen, rather than feeling you are forcing it. There are plenty of slimming world things that your husband would love, I'm sure. As regards your husband. don't let his machismo "pfft don't give me any of that diet junk" get in the way. Ask him to give your dishes a fair go, there's no reason he can't enjoy SW food if he opens his mind.... tell him you really need his support right now, as you need to do this for you both, and it's a bit difficult.its so tired cooking for myself, my husband as he dosnt have slimming food, also looking after my two kids, 2 years old and a 5 month old. plus doing regular exercise. towards the end of the day i can feel my legs shaking but weighed myself today but was still the say weight.
... lol I dunno. The first week I started, the consultant explained the plan to me and I laughed at her (silently in my head of course) and thought "Sausages, eggs, chips and beans... and I can have as much as I want? I'll show you your plan is crap." SO I had sausages eggs, chips and beans every night for a week, and I'm not a small eater... I pile a plate. I lost 4 lb, and have never been cynical since. The only advice our consultant gives is to eat what you would normally eat... if you pile a plate, then do it with SW food. If you'd normally be more moderate then do that, but stick to what suits you.another thing i have noticed is that i tend to eat literally 'as much as i want' i get excited with free foods and think i can eat and eat and will still lose weight..is that where i am going wrong? i feel i am.
...it sounds like it, but why wouldn't you be? It's hard work and you want results. That's fair, you just have to remember the marathon/sprint analogy.ii am so frustrated. i have 3 stones to lose so one would assume i wouldnt slow down, maybe i am impatient,
... I promise you, the time will come, if you stick with it, that those slim clothes will be hanging off you. Just be a little more patient, but most of all do me a favour and relax a little. You have 10-15 syns a day, go and have 6 of them now on a glass of wine. You deserve it.got really fed up y'day and i subscribed to the slimming world magazine.
sorry for venting here but really have no one else to vent at. my DH keeps telling me to chill but i cant, i have had enough of being fat, want to wear nice clothes feel good about myself,
sorry for laying my burden on to you lot, just want to advice, preferably those following slimming world

Hi Rational. You've come to the right place to let it all out. We are here to support you. I went to town today to buy some clothes and came home very depressed -I want to be slim NOW!
But climbing a mountain starts with small steps and a 1lb loss this week sounds completely normal compared to other members at my SW class. It's my usual. Keep up with the exercise and I bet it shows next week. Others on this forum have also found excercise takes a while to show.
I don't cook separate meals for my OH - our SW dinners are delicious
and OH doesn't feel deprived. I just cook him a bit extra, or perhaps pasta/potatoes with a meat dish when I might choose not to have any.
Yes, I too am eating a generous amount. I can't do going hungry. Don't wear yourself into the ground with the exercise. You sound like you have a lot on your plate, just keep in touch with us here, stick with the SW and take it a day at a time. 1lb a week means 2 stone by xmas.:T Are you signed up for our monthly challenge?
Just a thought Katmad but juice is very high in sugar too. Never touch it myself:A
better send this quick before it crashes and I lose it all. It's sooo annoying when that happens!

This is so true Suggs. The best support is from each other - people who really understand what it is like to battle against the weight (and win!). I often try on clothes that are now too big for me, just to get a good measure of how much I have achieved. Sometimes the number of lbs or Kgs or stone you lose just doesn't seem noticeable until you measure against clothes you have worn. I have a fashion (or lack of fashion) regularly and my husband gives me odd looks as if I am med. It is my way to stay motivate. Erlqueen, do you have clothes which are looser on you since you lost some weight that you can motivate yourself with?0 -
Was just thinking... with so many new peeps, people looking for inspiration, whether the real stars of the show (yes you, Suggs, Victory, Petrichor et al) could post some before and after pics if they are game, and if that is allowed on here?0
-
yes, stick to it and be strict. It is fair with you if you are fair with it - i.e. you can have your large-ish glass of wine a day but don't "forget" to count those odd one or two syns which can crop into a day. For the first week it will be daunting with free foods, HEa, HEb, syns etc, but it does work if you stick to it and you can eat an extraordinary amount if you want to. But don't kid yourself that you are doing it properly if you are not.
This is the voice of experience unfortunately.
I'd second this Ajax. and what you said to rational.
By the way did you enjoy your pigeon pie? :rotfl:
Thanks for the MB advice oops a daisy
Well done, newly wed, retired lady and victory.
Delighted the menu planning is being so sucessful petrichor.:j

Well i'm tryin to get my head round SW, but i'm having trouble working out what to have for breakfast!! not a good start! i'm looking mostly at green days and then i'll take a look at red when i've got the hang of it!!
A favour though- if anyone on SW could post/pm me a typical day/week of their menu it would really help me out!! Thanks!!
