Hi everyone. Had a really good weekend, unfortunately diet wise it has been very bad. Don't think I've got any chance of reaching my 4lb target this week. Oh well, never mind. Anyway, damage limitation wise, if I cut my calories for a day or so, do you think that will help? I'm on 1400 calories a day. I knew that this weekend would be difficult on the diet so decided not to calorie count and just go with the flow. I had a few days last week where I didn't use all my calories and Saturday, all though I didn't count them, I'm sure I didn't go over my limit but Sunday I am sure I went waaaaaay over:eek:
I was thinking that if I cut my calories to 1000 for Monday I may be able to compensate slightly for Sunday. Does anybody think this is a good idea or not. Any advice greatly appreciated.
Welcome to all the newbies:hello:0 -

I don't! Just go back to your usual calorie allowance like normal1000 isn't really enough for your body to keep ticking over and eating a lot less than you are used to may just make you more tempted to binge on stuff anyway!

Evening all
I thought I was on the wrong thread for a moment there, with the talk of matched betting!
Well, it's been a lovely weekend here, not a drop of rain for three days, so I hope everyone else has been lucky too. It's forecast to change tomorrow, but it was nice while it lasted.
I was in Costco yesterday and they were giving away free samples of Rainier cherries, and I have to agree, they are very tasty. I didn't buy any though - £5.99 for a small container  . We've got a cherry tree in the garden and the fruit is lovely and all the better for being free!
Have a good week everyone.

suggs carrot cake
Cake:
3 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 Tbsp baking soda
1 Tbsp ground cinnamon
1 1/2 cups olive oil or grapeseed oil
4 large eggs, lightly beaten
1 Tbsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups shelled walnuts, chopped
1 1/2 cups shredded coconut
2 cups of shredded carrots
1 cup of drained crushed pineapple
Frosting:
8 oz cream cheese, at room temperature
6 Tbsp sweet butter, room temp
2 1/2 cups of confectioners' sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Juice of 1/2 lemon
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease two 9 inch cake pans.
Sift dry ingredients into a bowl. Add oil, eggs, and vanilla. Beat well. Fold in walnuts, coconut, carrots and pineapple.
Pour batter into pans. Set on the middle rack of oven and bake for 50 minutes, until edges have pulled away from sides and a fork prong inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
Cool on a cake rack.
To prepare frosting, cream together the cream cheese and butter in a mixing bowl. Slowly sift in the confectioners sugar and beat until mixture is free of lumps. Stir in vanilla and lemon juice.
Once cake is cooled, frost. Sprinkle top with chopped walnuts.
Delia does a low fat carrot cake version and I have tried that one for the family and they love it and www.cook.com has loads of low fat desserts0 -

Hello lovely peeps. Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend
I have ZERO motivation to lose weight. When I first found the LW threads I was really motivated which lasted about a week to be honest. Now though…. I still have the graduation and the holiday to look forward to (well I’m not looking forward to the grad – I’ve seen the marque. It’s massive and I’ve been told it will be packed!) but I dunno. Everyday I start out by thinking about what I’m going to eat on SW – red or green. Then I blow it, then I get fed up with myself, then I promise next day will be day one. Day one is a brilliant idea but I don’t think it’s supposed to be EVERY DAY.
I only realised this morning that re-joining SW was a complete and utter waste of money. The idea of the SW class is brilliant but this class, compared to the last class I went to before I moved house, is boring and really not encouraging to stay at. So now I’ve realised I’ve wasted a load of money. I can weigh myself and be honest about the weight and I can buy the monthly magazine to keep track of new foods which are added to the free food list!
I’ve been avoiding the thread because I’m embarassed about what I’m losing or not as the case may be – I feel like such a fraud! (but I seem to have the ‘maintain’ down to a T)
Anyhoooos enough of my doomsayer posting. I’m off to read the thread from scratch ‘cos I think the last post I read properly is on page 6. If you made it to the end of my ‘drivel’ thanks for letting me moan.
There is a plus – I’ve lost 6 lbs which I wouldn’t have lost. Even if mine took 6 months to get off instead of 6 weeks0 -
Morning all. Busy weekend so didn't have a chance to post but my Sunday morning weekly weigh in declares that I am now 3.5lbs lighter than last week!!working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0

I am sorry Erlqueen that you are struggling with finding the motivation to stick with it. Try to remember what made you join us on the LW thread in the first place and maybe that will help you to refocus. As you said, you have lost 6 lbs and not put it back on (or even more) which is still a positive thing. Don't feel embarrassed about what you are or are not losing - we are all in it together and we have all been there and struggled with motivation to lose weight. Even maintaining over 6 months is hard work and should be pleased with that achievement. Stick with it. We'll help you...0

Crumbs!! What a busy lot you've been since I was last here Saturday :j A busy Saturday and 8 hours and some disappointing results at Wimby yesterday made it too late to catch up with you all last night however I hope everyone had a good weekend and that you've all been behaving (although I don't hold out much hope for ajax on the latter)...
...I've managed to lose a further 0.8lbs this week, not bad I suppose given that I had that lovely Thai meal last Tuesday...
...I've done another meal planner for this week as I found it to be a fantastic help last week :j Thanks to all of you who gave ideas on the subject :T ...
...I'm off now to get the essentials done for dinner tonight, then I'll be back to catch up with all the posts...
xxxxI wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latterbut my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!

Have tried bidding on SW books on ebay but there seems to be quite a few bidding on them so have been outbid each time.
In a much more moneysaving way, I have remembered a colleague who was on SW and so can borrow the books to have a look throughworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0
