I'd like to join in if that's OK :) have 2 stone to lose all together but am doing it in little bits and small targets so it doesn't feel too daunting!
I calorie count and use the weight loss resources website
which is cheaper than any slimming clubs I know of and has good support on the site.
Can't do slimming world, giving me "free foods" is just asking for disaster!

Ajax -I'm getting converted to quorn after a slow start. ;) Just ordered the thai fillets in my Sains interent shop (.5 syn each - not the ones in a sauce).Added quorn pieces to Petrichor's pasta bake and really delicious.
Sains reduced fat mature cheddar is lower in fat that Cathedral city if you get a chance to shop in Sains (Fat 15% vs 21% Sat fat 10% vs 14%)

I've got a great recipe for low fat banoffi pie :T our SW leader brought in this week. Great for a treat/birthdays. Let me know if anyone wants it.
    2.5 syns for decent portion.

......yayyy thank you BB, a Quorn convert :) I'll have to check out the Sainsburys cheese with my consultant but I see no reason why it shouldn;t be a HEa on that evidence - cheers.

Right then, banoffee pie. You're talking to a man who goes into Frankie & Bennys and drools through two courses until the banoffee sundae appears, then goes into banoffee heaven. Please start talkin' :)

Been away on business for 3 days and I find 7 new pages to read - you have been busy. Well done all loosers in particular Suggs. Also welcome to all new members.

Been a bit rubbish while away foodwise as they did some lovely snacks at the breaks and lovely dinners too. I had smoked halibut for breakfast on ryebread really nice (I am Danish so we are a bit mad on smoked fish).

I did only have 3 glasses of wine while away but this week I am up to 10 already and I will have a glass tonight with dinner so Lydia I am really looking forward to our challenge next week. I will be away with work 2 nights next week so it will be hard but I am sure I can do it.

Cooking dinner at the moment so just a quick word from me - take care all.

right I have just posted this on Old Style

''I am on a major diet for the next few weeks - feeling very motivated right now so lets see how I get on this week :o

Breakfasts to be cornflakes or yoghurt and oat crunch for me and rice Krispies for DD

Lunches will be a slimfast shake or meal replacement bar :o for me and school dinners for DD

Sunday - Roast Chicken & Rocket for me Roast Chicken with potatoes and veg for DD
Monday - Smoked Mackrel & Rocket for me and Pasta with Tomato sauce for DD
Tuesday - Poached Eggs on Toasted Gluten free Bread for me and Pizza with Potato Wedges for DD
Wednesday - Bacon & Tinned Tomatoes for me and HM Lasagne for DD
Thursday - Tuna Salad for me and Chilli Con Carni with Rice for DD
Friday - Flaked Salmon and Salad for me and Spag Bog for DD
Saturday - Poached Egg with Bacon and tinned Tomatoes for me and Pasta with Bolognaise Sauce for DD

mid morning snacks will be fruit ( a banana :o ) and mid afternoon snack will be more fruit ( melon ) DD eats at least 2 bananas per day plus a bag of grapes and I will do some raw carrot if I need a snack outside of the above.

I havent really ever been on a proper 'lose weight' diet before so this is really going public :o got 10lbs to lose over 3 weeks before my holiday.

No puddings for me and no chocolate either :o Im not sure if I will be getting enough of my 5 portions of fruit & veg per day so may have to top up with more fruit after my evening meal. No eating after 6pm on a night and I want to drink at least a litre of water per day. No coffee and tea will be replaced with fruit/herbal teas. I take a multi vitamin and Omega 3 fish oil every day too.

    Wish me luck :D

edited to add - signature updated, no going back now ''

thats me gone totally public and feel really positive. Havent got a clue if this weeks meal plans are alright so would welcome any comments from anybody who knows anything about nutrition. Am hoping for hot weather too as I always fancy a salad when its hot. The cutting out chocolate will be the hardest for me but I am going to try to stick to all of the meals instead of missing breakfast then getting hungry around 11am and stuffing my face. Eating on a night is a bad one for me too, I can sit and stuff my face all night long sometimes so will have to summon some will power or take up knitting to keep my hands busy. Im eating up all the naughty stuff tonight - not much left and I actually dont fancy it right now but I know I need to get it out of the house otherwise I will fail before I start.
Right I am now going to have a read through this thread and the links. Thanks for the warm welcome :hello:

    ... allo Suggs mate.

Yeah BB, come on... that's two (EDIT: three, did a recount) of us drooling now, and at least Suggs and me aren't blaming kids for our weaknesses ;)

Oops I don't really know what's good or bad in your plan as you are having meat/fish every day and that's outside my knowledge comfort zone. The one thing I will say is about the 6pm thing that you mention, which is a bit of a popular myth. It's not the time that is the problem, it's the food itself. If a person loses weight by not eating in the evening, the weight hasn't come off because of the time.... it's come off simply because they haven't eaten. 1500 calories is 1500 calories, no matter whether it's morning, noon or night.
