I'm considering changing my target weight, how do other people work out what theirs is going to be??
I set one and before I went on holiday I would have been 1/2 lb less than it but I decided to change it to a lower one. Now I'm wondering if I set it too low and would have a problem maintaining it if I've set it too low???( DOes that make sense?
)
Jo
If you have doubts over the new target, why put yourself through the anguish of not being able to hit it? You've done brilliantly to hit your target so why not enjoy it for a while if you know that where you are now feels right. If a boxer wins a match, he doesn't carry on fighting
Why don't you consolidate for a while and see how your current target feels on you? Nothing stopping you trying later if you want to

Well I did have a surprise and it wasn't nice. I put on my jeans (lethal - don't do it unless you always wear them to get weighed) and their scales said I put on 2lbs!! Gutted wasn't the word, in fact I managed to be awful yesterday, had chips, chocolate, the lot and feel thoroughly ashamed today so I am straight back on the wagon today.
It's amazing how bad you can feel when someone says you weigh more than you think, isn't it. Even though I actually feel thinner, trousers aren't popping open any more, it really knocked my confidence. I thought I would continue and show them next week, but then I went and ate that yesterday. Feel like somethings a bit wrong with me, why can't there be as much help to stop overeating as there is to stop smoking!
Sorry for the moaning post. Just needed to offload, hubby won't want to hear as he so rightly says 'you never stick to it, why should I believe you will do it this time?' I know that sounds harsh for him to say, worst thing is he's usually right - but not this time! I'll let you know later how my days been, can't let you all down now can I?
Take care all,
bbx
... BB you know that results don't always happen on the week you expect them. I'm sure that if you don't get disheartened, stick to your plan and ditch those jeans you'll have a fantastic weigh-in next week. It's the weird old world we live in

And it's not a moaning post, it's open discussion lol0 -
ajax NEVER took to quorn sausages, they do not brown and look insipid and the slices of pretend bacon quorn fashion were horrible;)
..... lol such brave words from someone so light. If you diss Quorn then you diss me so prepare to take a beating from someone weighing nearly 220 lbs!!!
As for browning, they DO brown  .....spray them with fry light and they brown lovely in the pan, under the grill or even in the oven. In fact, I'm about to call Mrs Ajax and order a sausage and bean casserole for when I get home from work at 7.30 ... thanks for the suggestion
Oh, people, I was so naughty. I had chip shop chips last night
Mrs A was out at the pub and by the time I'd picked her up it was almost 10.30.. I was expecting her to want to be picked up at 7.30 so didn't have tea, I was gonna make it when we got back. 10.30 was too late, so we went to the chippy. I feel terrible, and this on top of our regular take away after a Thursday weigh-in. Woe is me!!!

Hi bbabe
This happens to us all, honestly
I hope your post helped you feel better. The other week when I approached the last 7lb mark, I decided, after reading about how hard it can be to shift that bit, to hit the ground running and did loads of exercise etc etc only for me to lose 0.2lb the next week
 I know it was a loss and not a gain but I was expecting to lose more, however, the week after that I lost 2.6lbs which I'd never before managed to lose in a week before with the exception of the first week. You know your clothes are fitting better and this is a better indication than what the scales say!!!:j :j ...
... I'll be back later re Victory's and jo's posts about targets and maintaining etc, I'm having to give this a good think (you can perhaps hear the creaking:o ) ...
...Lois You popped up last night, I went  :rotfl: and got all mixed up , but I'll be back later...
xxxxI wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latter
but my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!0 -
I do feel better, thanks guys, and thanks for listening! bbxIf you don't have something nice to say don't bother saying anything at all.0

I agree petrichor I know from expereince that the scales don't always so a loss but my clothes are feeling better I have had to fasten my belt on the smaller hole to keep my jeans up and my muffin tops feel smaller too. :rotfl:Some of it is because I am trying to improve my posture but also because I am smaller. The only thing that isn't is my thighs I guess thats because they have more muscle now I am walking alot more and my whole area is one big hill.:mad:0 -

...at the risk of sounding too male, what is a muffin top?:o Is it "top" as in a piece of clothing?

Ajaxgeezer I class them as the bits that hang over the top of jeans just think of a muffin coming over the top of it muffin case.0

.... :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I really thought it was clothing. And I hope I don;t sound a bit weird here, but as a bloke... I quite like a little "muffin top" as you call it, they are cute and cuddly
. As long as it ain't a saggy souffle of course
