Drink is usually tea, tea and more tea - always black no sugar
Breakfast is two slices of wholemeal toast with low fat marge, and jam or honey.
Lunch varies (used to be a baguette from the sandwich man :eek) - this week it has been jackets and tuna with low fat salad cream, or wholemeal sarnie with smoked salmon. Next week will probably be leftovers from night before
Tea is usually, omelette and salad, casseroles (no fat added, usually made with passata, turkey, chicken or pork and veg), grilled pork chops (with fat cut off) and veg, shepherds pie with lots of lentils and veg added etc. Always cooked from scratch. Have gone back to using an oil spray for roasting veg (ie baking them really).
Snacks this week are fruit: cherries, nectarine, banana. In the evening if still hungry it has been toast and honey (but it used to be HM microwave cake or half a pack of biscuits)
Edit: I am the chef but don't usually do "pickings" unless I'm baking biscuits and cakes.
.... wow, if you stick to that with sensible sized ratios of meat and potatoes I reckon you'll be losing hand over fist. You've weeded out the bad things such as the baguettes (so much bread in them before you even add the mayo and cheese), biscuits and cake...... do treat yourself to a few biscuits of an evening though, you need a treat to stay sane and it's something to look forward to.0 -
Thanks ajax. Hope the weight falls off as I'm impatient and very liable to give up if I don't see a result!!!
As for a few biscuits.... I don't have the willpower to only have a few - that's the problem!!!
My treats this week have been smoked salmon, cherries (half price which was a bonus) and cherry jam!working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -

.... if you can't leave a pack open, buy a smaller kids lunchbox sized pack and eat all 4 biscuits. No problemoHaving said that, cherries are far better for you if you consider that a real treat hehe

Last time I tried the small treat packs - just opened another pack  Told you - no will power at allThis time though I'm determined to lose at least a stone - half my clothes don't fit me - and even worse I've gone back into a skirt the same size as the stuff I was selling on ebay a year ago because I wasn't going to get that big again!!
Well a real treat would be M&S Rainier cherries (the white ones). Thankfully I no longer work near M&S or I'd spend a fortune on fruit in thereworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -

Don't worry, newlywed, you're not alone. If anything sugary, biscuity or crispy is in the household, I just have to eat it... I have no restraint at all.
So we just don't have it in the house. So I would suggest that to you, if that's possible?
I know it can be difficult what with other halves or kids, but I know there have been good suggestions such as putting them in a cupboard you can't reach.
In our case, my effortlessly slim other half (I'm not jealous, I'm NOT I tell you...) hides 'emergency' chocolate somewhere on his side of the bed. And I am NEVER so hungry as to go rummaging through his pants and socks...:rotfl:
It does mean that I only have to use actual will power when I go out with friends (picking the healthy option or eating before) or when work have a function (again picking the healthy option... if there's one).
It takes it out of your hands at the moment, but in time you will find that you don't fancy chocolate/crisps/biscuits anymore. Or when you've had one, it's enough. And then you'll have more 'will power'...
Hope that helps?OH OD - £100.00/£100.00 Joint OD - £100.00/£100.00StepChange: £10,057.670 -

... haha fantastic, welcome to my world. I just went on honeymoon and was grumpy in the heat because my clothes were too snug, hence coming back here and doing phase three of my weight loss kick.
It's hardly moneysaving at £4.50 a week but you sound like a prime candidate for someonewho could really get on with slimming world... all those cherries - and other raw fruit - are free food along with a lot of what you mentioned before in your list.0 -
Thanks Sa1sysoo. Glad it's not just me!!
Haven't bought any biscuits and the other night when the step-kids were over I gave them the last few that were most tempting me
I will probably end up making the kids a sponge cake of some sort at the weekend. OH is dieting too but think we are both likely to give in to a cake at the weekend when the kids are about. Might get the kids to help make jam tarts as I don't like those
Trying to keep all the meals as varied as possible so I don't get bored of it - which is when the munchies happen . Got more apples, bananas and nectarines today for the weekend. Works out a bit more expensive though - although we aren't using nearly as much eggs, sugar and choc chips so it might even out!working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -

Hmmm well I didn't really like weight watchers (my sister used to go to meets etc but me and mum supported her by doing the diet and points counting).
My worry is getting obsessed with counting food though - couldn't see that the extra sins things were much different from the new weightwatchers free foods and treat points thing.
But if there was a weeks free trial or something I might think about trying it.
Edit: just found a 7 day menu on their website and will take a lookworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Well the online price for 3 months is £80!!! with a special offer of £20 discount.
Maybe I'll just check out ebay for someones booksworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
£80?
Going to a group is £4.50 a week so I don't see how they justify that.
Syns are a bit like points, except that there's unlimited amounts of free stuff you can have, not everything is counted depending on what days you do. I'm not going to big it up here though as it's unfair to folks who have done fantastic things of their own bat or on other plans. It just seemed to suit.
Anyway, moving swiftly on........ white cherries? Sounds barmy lol
