morning one and all and to all and one good morning
I did buy some quorn sausages last week, an aquired taste
Well done for the loss Ajax, do you use the scouring powder or the Dutch football team pronounction?
Big welcome to Bykerlass, how did it go Jo? Looking forward to league one football this season?
....Morn' Suggster.
Grrrr... am very unimpressed with thinly veiled swipe at Quorn. I love Quorn and Quorn loves me.... I shall defend it until the death - pistols at dawn, me thinks.
Pronounce the Ajax with a Dutch footy team twang. West Brom are my local team of choice (and what a crap choice that was) but I do try to get over to Amsterdam to watch a game at least once a season. I've even taken Mrs Ajax over... she has her own scarf and everything
Ooh ooh, who's your team then jo?0 -

Hello all. Can I join please?
Have put on too much over the last year and need to lose it to get back to the healthy BMI.
I'm not on a specific plan and we do eat fairly healthily but unfortunately too many biscuits and cakes have crept into the weekly food shop and we have been eating just too much food in portions too large
So far this week I have had no biscuits, cakes, sweets or choc. Just healthy low fat meals and lots of fruit (and occasional wholemeal toast with honey when I need something sweet).
Have found Murphy's no more pies club very helpful this week so far. Need to lose nearly 2 stone though to get back to "healthy" so will need help as I have little willpowerworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Hello newlywed, join the club. Tell us more about biscuits. WHat are your favourites?
What's with the quotes around the 'healthy'? Are you using BMI to gauge that, or has a doctor quoted a figure at you?0 -

No thinly veiled swipe at all, just a different taste, very sage and onion tasting to me
So your a baggie, Im a hatter (and you think you have probelms :rotfl:) and I think jo likes someone up north judging by her name and her location, but I could be doing the lady a disserviceseeing as we both got relegated together last season

....ah, I yes I see now. Sorry to be thick, I even remember noticing it in her name. So, we have something in common then Suggs... Curtis Davies doesn't want to play for us either lol.
Do you eat any other Quorn apart from sausages?0 -

Using the BMI stuff. Although all the charts etc said I was a "healthy" weight when I was just over 8 stone (over 15 years ago) and everyone thought I was anorexic! To be honest I was somewhat obsessed with counting calories and fat grams and weighing myself - hence trying to avoid specific "counting" plans
As for biscuits, any of them really but especially the extra butter shortbreads!! Or double chocolate Viennese fingers. Or anything with loads of milk chocolate on - have to be quiet now or I'll be wanting some!!working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -

.... I hear ya. There is a lot of informed medical opinion around that suggests BMI graphs are set too low. I know myself that to get under a BMI of 25 is pretty much impossible for me, and would be very unhealthy. Your local surgery nurse will give you a much better opinion than a fits-all-size sheet of paper. Suggs, you must have wide shoulders as a rugby forward - could you ever do a BMI of 25 without looking ridiculous?
Anyway, you're here now nd we're not letting you go.WHat's a typical day's food/drink, including pickings if you're the chef?

Drink is usually tea, tea and more tea - always black no sugar
Breakfast is two slices of wholemeal toast with low fat marge, and jam or honey.
Lunch varies (used to be a baguette from the sandwich man :eek) - this week it has been jackets and tuna with low fat salad cream, or wholemeal sarnie with smoked salmon. Next week will probably be leftovers from night before
Tea is usually, omelette and salad, casseroles (no fat added, usually made with passata, turkey, chicken or pork and veg), grilled pork chops (with fat cut off) and veg, shepherds pie with lots of lentils and veg added etc. Always cooked from scratch. Have gone back to using an oil spray for roasting veg (ie baking them really).
Snacks this week are fruit: cherries, nectarine, banana. In the evening if still hungry it has been toast and honey (but it used to be HM microwave cake or half a pack of biscuits)
Edit: I am the chef but don't usually do "pickings" unless I'm baking biscuits and cakes.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0
