Manic, no problem, glad to help in whatever way I can. I hit the gym 5 or 6 times a week, doing plain cv work, normally 20 mins on the bike and 21 mins on the cross (elliptical) trainer this works out to 360 cals and 420 cals = 780 on average. Yesterday though I added some jogging and it pushed i upto 1137 cals. My intention is to lose 13lb by 12th August as I go on holiday then. That will have taken me to around just short of 10stone lost since Feb 2006. If I can then anyone can
With regards to eating late, I always find it hard to eat early evening, and I have thought and believed that eating late in day doesnt help matters, however I found this and now wonder?
firstly well done. how on earth did you manage to lose 10 stone in just over a year. i have 6 stone to lose and cant imagine ever getting there. my mobility is severly restricted so besides short walks all exercise is out. i know i should be thinking in terms of small chunks of weight lose rather than the whole 6 stone but it is just so much to contemplate0 -

.... oooh, don't mind if I do, my morning has perked up already
Can someone who knows how to cook (ie certainly not me :rotfl: ) please answer a question for me? I was wondering if I could make a white sauce by reducing some stock in a pan then adding a dollop of creme fraiche or fromage frais or something? Would that work or would it not homogenise? Free 'tomato type' sauces are easy on SW but I've never made a free white sauce.Ta in advance.
Right, back to my :grouphug:......
I've always thought that group hug smiley looks a bit pervy, now I'm convinced! I think I'm going to change my sig!
I don't know of any free white sauce recipes, and I've got a feeling that the fromage frais would curdle (is that the same as homogenise..?) although it's worth a try.
There is a fairly low syn way to make white sauce that uses 1 HEa - here's a link. Just being nosy now - what are you going to use the sauce for?

I've made savoury sauces that way and prefer them to the flour/milk variety. I add the low-fat creme freche/fromage frais/yoghurt at the end of cooking when the boiling has subsided to prevent any curdling.
xxxxI wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latterbut my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!

... you wanna remove a pervy smiley? This is the naughty noughties, get another one in there... you only live once
The sauce would be for... oh, anything really. Quorn fillets/pieces with pasta shells probably as I have a these huge great shells which are delicious and I'm bored of doing a tomatoes/onions/peppers/chillies thing with them and have never made a white sauce. Homogenise is just the opposite to curdle.... would reducing the heat and gently warming the fromage frais/creme fraiche help rather than simmering it?0 -

... thanks petrichor (and did I really get a 'xxxx'?) <puts on Joey accent> "How YOU doin'?"
Lois, thanks very much for that recipe, I'll give that a go too (when I finally get a day off work). For anyone else on SW who fancies that sauce and doesn't know, Cathedral City now do a lower fat full flavoured mature cheddar of which you can have 42g as a HEa on original or green.0 -

:j thanks victory and not just for the veg/bean one. I love Thai stir frys and curries, and am a regular at our local Thai takeaway. I walk in and get greeted with "One vegetable Thai green curry with no fish sauce, boiled rice?" ... just too predictable. I'll be substituting that chicken with Quorn pieces faster than you can say Sharwoods.
Weighing in tonight. Scary. Had a bottle of wine over the last 2 nights, very poor planning0 -
