Hi Kyle, we do all seem to be using different ways to lose weight - it seems to be we each need to find a way that suits us best, eating healthy being the overriding important factor.
However, I personally find I have to keep a food diary, writing down everything I eat throughouut the day as the only way to keep track (I'm dong SW not doing WW by the way) otherwise it is so easy to forget. May be this will help you?
There does seem to be less counting with SW than WW or calorie counting so maybe this would siut you better, but I'm not trying to convert you!!
Hey Petrichor, well done on grabbing the 'getting organised ' bull by the horns. Get that weekly menu printed out girl
A brief gap in the clouds here on the south coast. OH and I may make a valiant stab at some exercise shortly: got to do something to shift weight this week: last 2 weeks have been a maintain and .5lb on

xI try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
petrichor the only way to do it is to be organized;) you can do it:D
alba thanks for the big up you, are very welcome here;)
thanks kyle...I find calorie counting the best way to loose weight, there are many websites that tell you for your height and weight how many calories you should be on and it has helped me loose over 4 stone so does work!!
tesco you are very welcome, the more the merrier.0 -
Hi to all you calorie counters out there... can someone answer a question for me.....
When you're calorie counting, do you count the calories in vegetables too?
Thanks

Yes - I count calories of everything. Sadly it can become an obsession - so I do count the 2 calories in a tic-tac (not a vegetable)!0

Ello, wow it's scary here in number 13, so treat me with kid gloves. 12 was such a nicer number.
Anyway, I get the Tesco deal of the day emailed to me and just wanted to say that if anyone is thinking of doing the Tesco ediets, then as long as you sign up before 10am tomorrow you get 12 weeks for the price of 8 - that's today's deal of the day. I'd imagine that there's a link on the Tesco ediets page. It's £2.99 per week, and they email you shopping lists etc with your diet plan.0 -
:hello: Hi everyone, welcome to the newbies. I have been religiously counting every calorie that I have eaten for the last 3 weeks, so today I have decided to have a day off from it, still eating sensibly but not writing it down, just for today, kind of like a test for myself to make me think about what I am eating. I also cut out alcohol completely when I joined here but I decided to buy a bottle of wine on Wednesday and I opened it and had only one glass and counted it and I had another glass last night and counted it. I'm feeling quite proud of myself as before I would have drunk the lot in one evening then wondered why my weight was going up and up. The reason I am doing this is because I need to teach myself portion control etc and I don't want to have to cut things out completely forever, if that makes sense, anyway I'll see if it has worked on weigh day. Best of luck everyone.0

Right guys, after calorie counting for a week now, I finally have a second weight reading to compare and i've managed to lose 5lbs :j:j
Really pleased about that, and best of all a) I didn't find it hard to watch what I eat - I only have a small appetite anyway and calorie counting makes you realise how I ate far too much before!! and b) pre-season training started today for football and after a hard session, I am happy that playing football an extra 1 or 2 times a week will help me lose the other 7lbs i'm trying for!
If all goes to plan, I should right in the middle of my recomended weight range in about 2 weeks!!!
GF also lost 3lbs but she doesn't exercise much - keeps making excuses - but glad she lost some to see it can be done, and if she exercises more, she'll soon lose the weight in time for summer hols!!!
