    Bonjour!!!:hello:

Long time no see (..well.. type!) I'm Back! Moved home from uni so living with the rents (means i cant control my own dinners as much :( but does mean i can save some money and wont buy junk food!!)
Have been totally rubbish at the mo (eating bad food, eating out too much) for example i had pizza hut for lunch today  but was good and only had a couple of bits of thin vege pizza and loads and loads of salad.

So i'm back on a mission to start doing well again, i really dont want to let myself down. My friends all want to start goin to the gym together so that'll help, we're going to do step and bodycombat classes too, and another friend of mine wants us to go swimming together every week, so hopefully i'll be a busy (and skinny!) bee all summer!!

So count me officially Back In for the next challenge lois please! :) I have gained some over the last few weeks but not sure how much right now, will get on the scales soon (hopefully tomorrow morning).

i've got a job interview tomorrow so i have to spend tonight 'swotting' so i sound confident and clever!! got my nails done today as well so i feel really grown up (and sexy!) hehe!! Tho it does make typing VERY tricky so please excuse any typos!!

Hope everyone's well. looking forward to getting stuck back into it with you guys!! :)
    K xx

i had a spine operation late 2004 and managed to gain 4 stone over a period of 18 months of inactivity. since then i have gained a further 2 stone. am now at my very lowest. what with the constant pain and being huge have been having thoughts of suicide. today needed to go to doctors as my feet and legs have swollen so much i was fearing i would have to cancel my holiday to majorca on sunday. to make me feel worse she confirmed my suspicions that it was due to being so overweight. i just wanted to die when she said it was not surprising considering i had gained 14 kilos since april. i can no longer pretend i dont care. i do. i look a complete sight my size 20 clothes are groaning and am destined to look the beached whale i promised myself last summer holiday would not happen. please let me join your group i really need the help. today i started the paul mckenna i can make you thin, lets hope he can, with 6 stone to lose he has quite a battle on his hands :o

Welcome to the thread homealone. I'm sorry to hear of your health problems, but the trick is from now on to keep looking forward. You can look at your weight this way: "this will be the last time in my life I weigh this much". You can look at your weight gain negatively or look positively towards the future - feel good that you're doing something to lower your weight.

Good luck and keep posting with us.

Oh, Petrichor I meant to say. I've done myself out a bit of a calorie counter thingy on excel. It make a good menu planner too. If you want a copy pm me your e-mail address and I'll send it to you.

Manic if you have a hot water bottle, I would use that, it is better in some respects than deep heat. Remember to wrap a tea towel around it though, dont want you getting burnies :) Deep heat is good, I do use it, but I prefer a hot water (or cold) bottle just as much as you have more control over how hot and how long

Maniac I use a heatpad. It is quite naff looking (fake wool etc) but it really works in particular if you find it hurts when trying to sleep. I also use it when sitting on the sofa etc. Have not had to use it for a while thanks to Pilates but you never know. I actually have two was about to chuck one out.

Cheers for the info it has helped. I put a hot water bottle on my back for an hour or so then rubbed deep heat cream onto it so its right as rain.

I have also managed to improve my energy levels to enable me to go on the treadmill properly by eating the correct amount of carbs in the afternoon!

    Well done bb:j :j

maniac I live off deep heat patches;) I buy the ones that do not smell as H cannot stand it:D they last for 8 hours and are very warm and ease the pain...

    Welcome to all the newbies:D

petrichor do you mean the small white gratin dishes, like individual souffle pots? That seems like a perfect solution to portion sizes, that and using the ice cream scoop to measure out two scoops of pasta/rice to keep the portions under control...

    Hi homealone :hello:

I was sorry to read your post, and hope that you're feeling a little more upbeat this morning. You really have had a bad few years (understatement!) but these have now officially ended because a) You have realised that you need to do something about your weight; and, most importantly b) You have found and joined us here on this fabulous thread :T .

Now, obvoiusly you won't be able to make much difference before your holiday in Majorca so go and enjoy yourself! You will be surrounded by lovely mediterranean food from which, if you choose wisely, will help you step gently onto the weight loss wagon, but don't beat yourself up if you overindulge this one last time, you will be on holiday!!

So keep posting over the next few days and let us know how the Paul Mckenna is working etc and then we can look forward to you coming back from your holiday looking all relaxed, tanned and gorgeous (yes you will!) and full of motivation to join us full time :j :j

hellolovelypeepsso5.gifHad a really great time last night :j thoroughly enjoyed it. From what I can make out I don't think that what I had to eat was too disastrous slimming wise, my main dish was thinly sliced venison with veg in a broth type thingy but it was verrrry spicey, so by the time I'd finished it I felt as if I'd got a trout pout :rotfl: but we will definitely be going again. Most importantly the children (DD and her BF) were impressed with it and they are Thai food devotees...

...Well done karren :j glad to see you back into winning ways, and Brighton belle :j ...

I was going to say welcome back but now you've done all this fancy foreign talk, and I don't know if you're really saying horrible things about me :rotfl: englishiz7.gif :rotfl: Hope your rents don't have too much of a shock to their systems having you back, I remember when DD returned after studying abroad as she couldn't just pop her washing and stuff home like she did when she studied here, I didn't realise how soon I'd adjusted to my freedom:D . Seriously though I hope your interview goes well today, Good Luck! although I'm sure you won't need it :) ...

...dellybelly thank you so much :T I would love one of those calorie counter thinghy things and I'm sorry now that I called you silly delly yesterday :rotfl: . I'll pm you when I've done this...

...Victory No I don't mean those little souffle pots (far too small :rotfl: ) but those boat shaped gratin dishes that they use in pubs to serve meals in ....I've just been and measured mine and it's a 300ml capacity, hope that helps. Perhaps it's just to do with perception but I do find it very useful using these though. I like your idea re the ice cream scoop, I've never thought about using that for rice etc Thanks Ol' Chum!!:D ...

...Lois I'm going to get that messenger thingy up and running later so be prepared for anything silly to happen, you'll know who to blame...

...Right, I'm off to get things done I'm working down a list of things some of which should have been tackled a fair while back, so good luck to the rest of you still to weigh in...
