Lydia, don't feel low. Most of the country could do with losing a few pounds, and you're among friends here :)

A lot of the folks on here go for simple calorie control based on the methods of a plan, so portion control should fit in nicely with that. Look to half a stone, see it as a bit of a personal challenge, something to get you fired up. My money says that when you go to the doc with 7 lb off, they won't be expecting you to lose the other 7, just a "see how it goes".

    Hello, by the way :)

efrieze :j :j :j take loads of photos, look at the before and after and feel marvellous about yourself:j :j

Not sure I will feel marvellous about myself yet but certainly feel like I am going in the right direction. I still want to lose another 39 lbs to get to my wedding day weight (and a nice round 100 lb loss). Then I will allow myself to feel marvellous.

    Morning all

So many new faces and a new victory to boot :) Welcome to all the new faces in here, we seem to be getting more and more popular :j

efrieze, I made a little slideshow of my pictures but these include some before and after, so I can see the difference I have made to myself, likewise the graph I did helps alot too. I did mine in excel, now I can see that its a good steady loss, that I have had a couple of bilps and still continue to lose in the end. :)

Honey School hols start early over there? pretty sure its another 3 weeks here, well done on your loss, hows the scrabble? :)
Victory you inspirational, motivational, slimmer, sexy person :jHope you do stick around, I will be jumping on the 'maintian the loss' train in a few weeks, would like to think I will have some company.

Petrichor - Thai green curry is lovely (drool drool) as is the spicy chicken and coconut soup (more drooling) but the curry is full of coconut cream and very naughty ;) but as a treat its ot too bad really. Mind you your cakes sound lovely, fancy sending some over???

Tallgirl, shame about yesterday, but hitting the gym surely would have helped bring things back into line? if thats all you ate, I would say your in credit for the day. What does bodybalance entail?

Note to self, Debbie42 like the aggression (glup!)

Dellybelly You know you shouldnt weigh immediately after a lovely but naughty meal, I know I did the same on sunday morning :o after going to see Shrek3 with Mrs Suggs, (pretty good) and then having a chinese afterwards  so Delly lets hope for a positive weigh in tomorrow :)

Anyways my body is stuck in this slow, slow, slow, quick, slow mode so I am more than happy to report a 5lb loss this week nothing else really changes, some (ish) gym sessions (6 last week) some sort of food intake. :)

Ok back to work I dive, plenty of things to do today for me, and a gym session to do :) and its just started to thunder :)

    Hope all ok

Well Done on the weight loss Suggs :T:T

Yeah, the schools over here get July and August off - great for traffic on way to work, crap for us parents :rotfl: Its costing me a fortune already - DH and I took them to see Shrek3 on Sunday, Avoided the popcorn :A Yesterday I took them tenpin bowling with my friend and her kids, its going to be a looooonn expensive summer !

    [STRIKE]Silent[/STRIKE] :o Scrabble going well thanks ;)

Welcome Lydia - Portion control will help, so will drinking lots of water. Could you try replacing snacks (if you have them) with fruit, yogurts, sugar free jely? Maybe walk instead of driving to shops. All these things, though little changes will help. Don't be mortified - a stone will be off you in no time and then you can go back and do this to your doctor :p :rotfl:

Thank you for your encouragement. I know what I have to do. Cut down on alcohol and stop snacking when I'm bored at work. Soooo hard though. I don't want to start counting calories and weighing stuff - I don't want it to take over my life - small changes are the best you are right.

Hi Folks, Thanks Lois for the new thread.
I am not counting todays weight as I decided to weigh myself a day early and I was 4lbs heavier than last Wednesday. I guess thats why I should just weigh once a week as weight can fluctuate. I am not getting much exercise as can't get out much and I thought all the walking around the house would count but at noon my pedomiter said I had walked 0 steps.

    Thanks efrieze :)

Trust me I would rather have 2lb a week than the current three weeks at 1lb (boo!) and then a 5lb drop (Yah!). I think thats twice since begining of May and I know it happened before that as well.
