Trust me I would rather have 2lb a week than the current three weeks at 1lb (boo!) and then a 5lb drop (Yah!). I think thats twice since begining of May and I know it happened before that as well.

5lb drop in a week! Are you following weight watchers?

Hi Folks, Thanks Lois for the new thread.
I am not counting todays weight as I decided to weigh myself a day early and I was 4lbs heavier than last Wednesday. I guess thats why I should just weigh once a week as weight can fluctuate. I am not getting much exercise as can't get out much and I thought all the walking around the house would count but at noon my pedomiter said I had walked 0 steps.

... Pooh, you know you have to be wearing it, it's not enough to just put it on the table? ;)

    (LOL sorry couldn't resist it)

Thank you for your encouragement. I know what I have to do. Cut down on alcohol and stop snacking when I'm bored at work. Soooo hard though. I don't want to start counting calories and weighing stuff - I don't want it to take over my life - small changes are the best you are right.

I am right with you on this one Lydia. I have for a long time kept to a diet on no crisps & no larger (except on holiday) and then normal but healthty 3 meals a day. However this is no longer enough so have had to step it up a gear. I have been trying to stick to 7 glasses of wine a week and I used to drink 1/2 bottle most nights. It is really hard and the last two weeks I have ended up with 10 glasses.

I do however find that it works as I could not count calories or do one of the swimming clubs but a little thought into your cooking (no fast food or take aways) and cutting out the crap I think we can do it.

If you fancy and challenge I will challenge you that next week I can stick to my 7 glasses a week starting Monday? Let me know if you are up for it if you prefer 7 glasses of something else that is fine too.

Suggs you are doing so well. BodyBalance is TaiChi, Pilates and Yoga in a 1 hour session. It gets the heart rate up something Pilates on its own does not do. It is nearly as good for my bad back as Pilates so all in all cool. Debbie I have seen combat far too hard for me.

Take care all must get some more work done.

I can't go anywhere;) I have to come on here daily otherwise what would become of me?:rotfl: :rotfl:

Crumbs suggs more compliments there than my H ever gives me:D thank you very much every one appreciated.

5 lb weight loss is so great, see told you in 6 weeks before your hols you can reach your 1 stone challenge loss:T only 9 lb to go....it seems that the coffee shop you frequent and the muffins are not eaten so regurlarly now then?!

    well done honey:j :j

LYDIA you are right it can seem to take over your life, all the worry about calories etc but it is worth it in the end because the outcome is a more energetic, happier, weight less way of life that just boosts the self confidence and if you feel good about yourself you exercise more, thus burning more calories speeding up the metabolism and naturally loosing weight or maintaining... I have never weighed anything but I do calorie count but even little changes as you say can help... I now buy small bananas instead of the huge ones, the potatoes are new potatoes or a small jacket potato instead of a 3 kg one just for me!! Smaller portions does cut the calories and make it easier to loose the weight...

Hi Lydia, I dont follow any plan, I have over the course of the last 16 months, purely cut back,re-assessed, and thought about what I am eating and drinking, if a lower fat version exists then where possible I have it :) hence the skinny latte in starbucks :) I also hit the gym at least 5 days a week and according to the machines, burn on average 780-800 calories session, this gives me a little credit in the bank :)

Consider this as challenge accepted. I usually drink 1 can of lager every evening during the week and rather an embarrassing amount at the weekend.

I am just cutting out the crap and trying to get on my step machine every night - also taking the stairs at work. I am on the 4 th floor and believe me it is a killer!

    Hi Peeps

Lydia Welcome to our thread :T I find that by using those little oval gratin dishes helps with portion control (it also looks nicer but perhaps that's just me :o ) anyway, stay with us and let us know how you progress, I'm sure you'll soon lose that 1 stone :D I have a stepper too and think it's great:j ...

...efrieze (aka the LW IT whizz kid) :T You'll soon be 2/3rds of the way there. Norway eh! I'd love to go there, lucky you. I wish now that I had some photos of me 6 months ago, but I own the camera ;) ...

    ... Suggs,:T daren't miss you this week:D ...

...Honey :T that is a great result, don't worry about the scales not being the same...

...Don't worry Pooh hopefully you'll soon be able to get out a bit more :) We all make the mistake of weighing ourselves midweek and then regret it :o but is you pedo working correctly? Not that I know anything about the things...

...Well! we went shopping this morning and it was all Sales Sales Sales, and it seemed that all manner of tatty stuff had been packed into the shops (John Lewis and Debenhams) under the guise of a bargain. I did manage to treat DD to a Radley umbrella but unfortunately there were very few bags on display, some did have a sales ticket on but they were quite grubby and we wanted A1 quality (s*d the price MrP was paying :rotfl: ) DD has been on the internet and found a shop nearer to us that stocks Radley so we'll be paying them a visit idc. So, all my money is still safe in my pot. Does anyone else here find that you can see loads of stuff when you don't have the money, but when you've got it you can't seem to spend it, or are we just more choosey ;) ...

... Thanks for all the kind words and advice about the meal tonight :T . Victory I understand what you mean about not getting too concerned re the calories in any of the dishes, the evening out is for DD and her BF so I'm determined to enjoy it, as it does seem to be a fabulous restaurant. I've only had an apple and an icecream so far today, so I've plenty of room :D ...Another thing :j :j I will be wearing something that hasn't ever fitted me as it should have :j :j good job I'm at the age where quality rather than fashion matters :o...

...Hope everyone else has a good evening...

    xxxx
I wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latter :p but my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!

Manic if you have a hot water bottle, I would use that, it is better in some respects than deep heat. Remember to wrap a tea towel around it though, dont want you getting burnies :) Deep heat is good, I do use it, but I prefer a hot water (or cold) bottle just as much as you have more control over how hot and how long

Lydia thats great - so 7 cans of larger vs 7 glasses of wine (I promise I will stick to med size). starting on Monday or would you prefer Friday. Anyone else who wants to join you are more than welcome.

Maniac I use a heatpad. It is quite naff looking (fake wool etc) but it really works in particular if you find it hurts when trying to sleep. I also use it when sitting on the sofa etc. Have not had to use it for a while thanks to Pilates but you never know. I actually have two was about to chuck one out.

Victory enjoy your meal out and don't forget to show us a picture of the Radley bag you get.
