;64797662]More then likely they'd locked the door early, one person had gone, the other one was just leaving and that was all he could think of to say as an excuse to not open up. i.e. nothing to do with me.
We'll see what head office have to say....
You dont actually know that was the case.0 -
;64804338]Yeh yeh whatever.
If the staff have a good reason why they closed early then they'll be able to justify with head office. If they can't then its their problem isn't it?
Plenty of people out there who want jobs.
Yes there are, but there are also plenty of people out there who might think before reporting someone when they dont know the full facts
Someone might have had to go home due to a family emergency.
Or a bereavement.0 -
;64804309]MSK - you seem intent on causing an argument here. You must have a bit of a sad and empty life if you have nothing better to do than cause an argument with a stranger on an internet forum.
Totally unnecessary personal comment towards someone.
You mention that plenty people would be happy with a job
Yet on another thread you ask about how your wife can be excused from jury duty because you dont have childcare and youd lose a lot of money if you had to stay home.
Fair enough. But why dont you consider employing someone for the week shes on jury duty.
If people wanting to work rather than your perception of people skiving off (because thats the assumption here, true or not) bothers you that much, give someone a job for the days your wife cant be at home.
Ive been in situations where Ive been unhappy with something thats happened in a retail setting, Id still think very carefully about reporting someone unless I knew the full facts.0 -

OK maybe a bit harsh. But I dont understand why people have to have a dig at others opinion? If you have an opinion then feel free. If you don't like the thread ignore it but dont come on and start making personal digs.
Unfortunately, whereas I could employ someone, it would mean I'd have to pay them then which would cost me a lot. Also, in reality, its extremely difficult to get someone to do the job at such short notice.
Back to the thread - In terms of reporting them to head office whats the problem? If they had a valid reason for closing early be it planned maintenance, family emergency etc, then I'm sure head office would be fine with that. If head office then inform me then I also would be fine.
If the person did close up early because they skived off then are you saying thats acceptable behaviour?0 -
Most normal, rational people don't going running to head office to tell tales....they turn up and say !!!!!!!! and either go home or try another shop. It comes across as nothing but petty tale telling by someone who is intent on causing trouble. will you be gloating about it in the pub as well?
No need to start getting abusive is there? If you don't agree feel free to ignore this thread.0 -

Different stokes for different folks.
The sooner some people realise this the better.0 -

Please point out were i have been abusive!0 -
You suggested that the OP may not be normal, or rational, because he reported the early closure of the store to head office. You also suggested the OP may be a petty tale teller, intent on causing trouble.0

What and thats abusive??? No thats my opinion...and as you youself have pointed out i only suggested. Hold my hands up to calling him a petty tale teller because thats what he is in my opinion...No abuse, just giving my take on the situation as the OP should expect others views if puts his tale of woe onto a public forum that actually allows other people to express their views.
EDIT: Actually after thinking about it...i wrote 'Most normal, rational people did'nt go running to head office'....so really i wasn't in no way shape or form saying he wasn't normal or rational or even 'suggesting' he wasn't, as you could also read it as ...some normal and rational people would go running to head office, but this normal, rational person has!0
