How to become glamorous?

I get my hair coloured at a local college, £10 for a cut and two colours. I dont wear a lot of make up. Ive never had a spray tan, its just not me.
Ive had a couple of massages this year as I need to keep my body in good order as I teach fitness classes, again, both at a local college.
Ive also bought a groupon where I'll get a facial and a mini massage. Ive always been wary of facials because my skin is so sensitive.
I use superdrug face packs, they seem to agree with my skin. I do my own nails. And a lot of what I wear comes from the local charity shops, I went out the other night and wore a pair of bright blue jeans which cost me £1 and a sparkly top that my mum got me from the red cross that also cost a few pounds.
I prefer bright nail varnish and Im a sucker for anything sparkly. What made a difference for me was losing weight, Ive battled with my weight on and off for a long time, but Im doing ok with that now.
I have to say sometimes my hair is the absolute opposite of well presented, its long and I spent most of my life with it tied back, its also wavy, I spend most of my time trying to get it under control.
Again, I really like superdrugs own brand conditioner, its 99p for a decent sized pot and just as good as others Ive tried including frizz ease.
I cook with coconut oil, but its also great for your skin. Tried it on my hair but felt it left it way too oily.
I've been doing a lot of hunting at charity shops and car boot sales lately for stuff too, as hubby and I are keeping ourselves on a tight budget to finish our house and save for his retirement.
I have long hair too and I'm forever fighting the frizz, so if you come up with a foolproof method of keeping yours under control let me know! I use Tresseme and buy those huge 900ml bottles when it goes on offer at Tesco. I've tried all the expensive shampoos over the years and none of them make a difference with my hair.
I actually cut my own hair or sometimes my husband does because it's wavy so pretty forgiving - if there's a bit not straight it doesn't show. I haven't been to a hairdresser for yearsThey don't like me because I won't cut off my long locks, my hair is a bit too thin for layered styles and as I henna they can't use any normal dyes in my hair as they won't take.
I'm tending towards using a lot of basics toiletries lately, like witchazel, rose water and aqueous cream. I'm liking witchazel in particular at the moment as a toner. I love the smell.0 -

I think I'm just feeling sorry for myself todayI have started using hand cream more and a bit of tinted moisturiser in the mornings though
HBS x
I love tinted moisturiser, it makes me look so much more natural in the summer compared to using normal foundation plus my skin gets a bit of a drink too.
My hands are shocking sometimes though. I'm a keen gardener and love plunging my hands into the soil, plus I hand wash up and that seems to really dry my hand out. I slather on cheap aqueous cream but it's no substitute for a pair of rubber gloves.
I always like the idea of getting a pink pair and sewing some fabric cuffs around the top. Cath kidston did them at one point and I thought they made a cheap pair of rubber gloves very glamorous :rotfl:0 -

Ooooo thank you!
Have you ever used the replenishing treatment?
I'm getting to the end of a jar of protein treatment I bought from the ethnic toiletries section in tesco, but for £6 it was ok but not as fabulous as I hoped it would be so I want to try something different.0 -

Yes I have, but I found that the bottle of intensive conditioner actually did as good a job and suited my hair better, even the light conditoner in the range was fine.
Im going to get some later on I think. I'll also try and find the link to the other superdrug conditioner Ive been using.0 -

I use the tub of the intensive one, the texture is quite thick, but its a great conditioner. I spent a week in spain recently and I didnt have much conditioner with me as I travelled with hand luggage only, but after a treatment with that when I got home, my hair felt fine.
Its 99p at the moment I think.0 -
Wow I have this image of you in my head of someone incredibly glamorous. I didn't know you could get your eyelashes permed !!
I don't smoke, never have or drink regularly, but I do lack sleep. This has to change.
It's always most satisfying when you are far more successful without your ex than with (it shouldn't but does really motivate me)
I'm really not
My background is beauty therapy so I know which treatments are out there and I do scrub up ok. I struggle against wearing what is comfy and what looks good on a daily basis though!
My cattiest moment was when I saw his new girlfriend. Let's just say, they're well suited. I spent the rest of the night feeling like a supermodel :A0 -

Hi all
can I bring this thread back?
I woke up this morning feeling a bit drab
My list for a perk up
Home gel nails and toes
Rough skin removal feet
Bleaching any hair visible on arms
Spray tan
Face mask
Dye roots
Not going out today so doing this while on the phone or working (thank goodness we do not video conference)
So I don't really care what I end up looking like at the end of the day ( and my husband will be happy with a flash dinner served by me with my head in a towel)
But I really would like to wake up feeling better about myself tomorrow.
Any advice for a skin brightening?
Pore reducing?
Hair shining?
Turning back 20 years?0
