Can you point out where you stated that your cats "don't go outside" before your most recent post?

In your first post you do state that your cats are "indoor cats".

My cats are also indoor cats, as are cats belonging to my friends and family. All of our cats have access to the outdoors on a daily basis.

my understanding of the term "indoor cat" is a cat that eats, sleeps, and spends as much time as it chooses to indoors.

My understanding of an "outdoor cat" is a farm, stray or feral cat, that eats and sleeps outside of an owners home, and does not have regular access to an owners home.

OP i havnt a problem with you wanting yapping dogs to yap less. What I didnt/dont like is the words you use, I really do hope they were written in jest. The statements below are from your posts.

    nasty little yappy dogs.
    horrible little things.
so ok some people love these disgusting things.
my neighbours love these horrible things
ittle dogs bark more as well,
    foul high pitched yapping noises

I have a "small dog" he weighs in at 4.5kg. Guess what he doesnt bark. Had my Teeg still been alive then that statement would have been he does bark during the day but not at night unless there was some one about.

My friend has a Finish Spitz and he barks for England, and he isnt a smallie.

It takes alsorts, just be thankful if all you have bothering you is "yappy Dogs". Far better that then a drugs den or nasty neighbours.

Good luck with your quest, I bet a nice word in the ears of the owners will solve your problem.
You are missing the point. If the OP has a problem, then they have a problem that does not involve your impeccably behaved dog. Why on earth should they compare it with a drug den ?
A word in the ear won't go as far as a word with the council, who will follow up the complaint, and quite reasonably insist they take the inbreed for a walk.

IF they are barking all day or the whole time they are out then I would speak to your neighbours and let them know it's annoying you.

I have a dog, he does bark sometimes when outside ( usually cos his boomer ball has gotten stuck and he's too stupid to get it out) when he does it I go out and tell him to be quiet or bring him in. I'm a dog lover but would not let him bark non stop every time he is out, it annoys me which means it annoys others.

He barks when the door goes also, not for long though and that's never late at night.

Speak to them is the best policy, if they aren't willing to co-operate then report to the council as a noise complaint.

Well as the op stated little dogs bark more. Erm no they dont lol

Sorry my dog is well behaved, but thats how he is. x

Drugs den, compare? why not? As tongue in cheek as the op's stetemants above.

I for one would have a word before going to any council. Remember if you want to sell up yopu must tell of any complaints or issues and this might loose a house sale in the distant future. Maybe who ever lived in the house before the op didnt have issues with yapping dogs.

As i said I havnt a problem with him wanting the yapping to stop. It was the words he used thats all. x

Cats protection state that "in the UK, the majority of people
    let their go cats outside."

@ Danih - in his first post
    Hi
my cats are nice well mannered indoor cats
    Andy

Indoor cat is a cat that does not go out.

My boys are mostly indoor, sometimes they go out.

OP said his are indoor cats = do not go out.

He did indeed state in his first post that his cats are indoor cats, as I acknowledged in my last post.

My cats are also indoor cats - but go out daily. I share same understanding of the term "indoor cat" as other cat owners I know. Obviously this is a relatively small group of pet owners.

I wonder what other posters perception of an indoor cat is?

To be honest, I am offended by andydiysaver's suggestion that posters including myself haven't read the original post before posting advice. I feel the above term can be understood in 2 different ways - as in either never gets outside, or does and spends most of their time indoors.

I personally think the laws on this are inadequate, and plenty of dog owners simply do not care about noise pollution.

I suggest you contact your MP to see if he is willing to support your wish for the law to be changed.
I also think the USA is streets ahead of the UK in terms of its approach to noise pollution.

Have you considered a move to the US where your wish for a quieter life may be possible?
I think the reason why we don't do anything about it, is that it's not so much in your face offensive, but a gradual and constant grind on the senses. Shouldn't have to put up with it.
    Andy

Well, Andy - don't put up with it.
Mount a one-man challenge to get the law changed (or move to the USA where they deal with issues such as this better).

For the record, I don't have any dogs - 'disgusting', 'yappy' or otherwise.

I'm not sure if the OP was really looking for advice or if his posts are designed to annoy/upset posters.
If he really was looking for advice, it's a pity he didn't word his posts in a less acerbic way.

To me, an indoor cat is one that doesn't go out. At all. Unless they escape.

I read the first post and realised that the OP's cats don't go out. Indoor cat to me means a cat that doesn't go out at all. A cat that goes out, even if only for a short time cannot be called an "indoor cat"

I sympathise with the OP, I feel on edge waiting for my awful neighbour above to start blaring her music, but if a noise annoys you you will focus on it.
Must admit, I'm not a fan of little dogs, the ones I've encountered have been totally untrained in every aspect. My dads girlfriend has a Jack Russell and I actually hate it, it's aggressive as anything totally launches itself off the windows when it sees someone walk past the house, bites your bum when your asleep, destroys your shoes, will walk past you and bite your toes  and the barking.....an on and on and on for no reason except the wind changed direction.
