I have full sympathy for the OP but can assure you not ALL small dogs are yappy and snappy and I offended at the suggestion that they ALL ARE!
I'm afraid that's the way it is on these forums, sadly. If somebody dares to make an unpleasant generalisation about staffies, or rotties, or big dogs then they'll be (rightly) shot down and told in no uncertain terms 'deed not breed'.
However, apparently its ok to make horrible comments about all small dogs, and supposed animal lovers will even agree!0 -
But it is the same with general comments about big dogs... Public forum, lots of opinions, people have to agree to disagree on many issues, those are not reasons to fight, just life0

just got in from work. I have to go outside to get there and when I come back in again I'm inside. My cats however do not work and therefore are indoor cats, which to clarify , in crystal clear terms means....
... they do NOT go out, not once, not occasionally, not ever , and therefore people who wish their sales pitch defending yappy little toerag dogs to be based around my cats somehow annoying the dogs, have not a leg to stand on!! As I've said, these revolting little creatures have it in the DNA to be born and once alive never stop barking once until they are dead. They do not need a cat to blame! That's what they do, it's all they do...!
To become a little more philosophical and expand on the issue, you can't blame cats ANYWAY - what's next - "she deserved it, she was pressing all his buttons" to defend some wifebeater for why he did it? To put it in plain English If I let all of my cats out and they proudly walked across the fence minding their own business, and if yappy dogs barked because of it, it is STILL they yappy dogs fault for being an annoying aggressive yappy horrible thing.
It's not the cats fault is it? indoor or outdoor. yappy dogs are yappy dogs because they love giving it the yap , they need no reason, they have no creature, event or trigger they can blame (or more accurately dog lovers can use to excuse them for) they just love yapping and annoying people, as others have touched upon it is bred into them at genetic level to take being annoying to a whole new level because some people love yappy dogs that much they're mad like that and crazy enough to engineer dogs so yappy that some failed breeds may have even yapped themselves to death!!
I on the other hand don't appreciate yapping dogs and feel that I shouldn't have to put up with them. On a serious note I'd never go to council before a conversation with neighbours that's just asking for it. But seeing as dog lovers are often this breed of people who think the sun shines right out of their dogs yappy little ****, I think twice before doing that too, though I may have to soon if it does not stop....0 -

Reading that diatribe I'd have to say you have bigger issues than 'yappy dogs'.
Really, you're way too excited. This is the internet, shout all you like, nothing happens.
Reply what you like to me, I don't give a monkey's cuss, don't know you, will never meet you and wouldn't care less if I did.
Why are you venting your spleen on here when it answers zero questions in real life? Got no one to talk to?
Try to get out more, then you wouldn't hear the dogs would you.... :wall:I am not offering advice, at most I describe what I've experienced. My advice is always the same; Talk to a professional face to face.
Debt - None of any type: Bank or any other accounts? - None: Anything in my name? No. Am I being buried in my wife's name... probably

Slightly off topic but does anyone know if those ultrasonic repellant things work on trolls too?
Next door to me has yappy dogs who yap 24/7, it's annoying but sweet Moses, it's not worth whining all over the internet for. Get a grip man.0 -
I actually quite like OP's writing style and have no idea why so many people claim to be offended?
Unless your own dogs could be described the same way - why do you get offended? Seriously?
OP- so I take it dogs bark while their owners are at home so clearly aware of the barking, correct?
Do they have other neighbours on the other side of their house?
I am afraid you really have no choice but to talk to them. Or totally soundproof your house and never open windows...0 -
Going to the council often doesn't work. There is a boxer dog across the road from me which for the last 5 or 6 years has barked and barked and barked. Early morning, during the day, late at night, in the middle of the night.
I love dogs. I have a dog and have had dogs for over 30 years but the barking of that dog (and the Labrador 2 doors away from it) drive me mad especially in the night as I am a poor sleeper at the best of times.
Everyone where I live knows of the incessant barking dog. When I tell people what number I live at I often get the reply "oh near that barking dog" and I live in a pretty long road.
Anyway I know quite a few neighbours have complained to the council, the dog warden etc. Someone from the council came out and told the next door neighbour that she should not have to put up with that level of noise and yet over 2 years later the dog is still there and still barking.
I personally have never complained because although it annoys me I would not like to think the couple would have to get rid of the dog. The annoying thing is that the woman is home now with a young child and yet does nothing to stop the dog barking. The world is over 4 billion years old and yet you somehow managed to exist at the same time as David Bowie0 -
