I'm seriously considering talking to them, don't know them too well but I can't see it changing any other way- I'm loathe to involve the council as that's just underhand. But I can't see it changing - I work full time but often some weekends I have to catch up in my office at home - hard to do numbers when dogs are constantly yapping their heads off. That's the line I'm thinking of taking- I think neighbours may be more likely to listen if they hear it's affecting my work.

If you do talk to them, I suggest you think very seriously about the way you will come across to them before you go to see them.

You may say this is a 'tongue in cheek internet discussion' but you've seriously lost your temper and been incredibly nasty to a number of posters.

Act like that on your neighbour's doorstep and you may find that the 'disgusting yappy barking dogs' no longer cause you any problems 'cos your neighbours may just call the Police.

I'd do it in a heartbeat confronted by someone like you who clearly can't even control his temper on a public forum where you can type and then review what you're 'saying'.

  • Ooooooo I'm quaking in my boots!
Yeh yeh, blah blah blah, whatever................Like I'M actually bothered anyway. Ppl like you make me laugh who come on here moaning about something, but then don't like it when ppl don't agree with ya!!!! I'm not the one who needs to calm down lol.
And tell me where did I slag ya cats off???? I only said "If that's the way you react to your neighbours dogs, then I'd hate to think how you react when your cats are whining or meowing for attention."
I have 2 cats & they are my babies, I love & look after them like they are children, so don't get stroppy with me!!!!! Even my username is named after one of my beloved moggies.
I don't like dogs either, never been a dog lover, but I don't go round slagging dogs off on a public forum! I have respect for other animal lovers.
    Pahhahahaha jog on matey.
quaking in your boots, implies I threatened you - stop being so dramatic and ridiculous, you're an online nobody , I'm an online nobody, we'll never meet, there are no threats here there or anywhere, so with the overreaction and drama, what on earth are you on about?

in quoting you dog face, I'm aware there are loads more woofs posted into the thread

that's always been the way with dogs hasn't it - they always need to prove themselves. Cat's don't need to - they know they're great and don't have to yap 200 times a second to force acknowledgement of that fact !!

Surely the correct terminology as described by the OP is "yap"

Its amazing that you're so bold on an anonymous forum, yet apparently so shy and reluctant to talk to your neighbours about their disgusting horrible nasty toe rags.
cause I live here, I don't live online , so I require diplomacy and measured response, i.e not telling my neighbours to throw their computers out the window / throwing about the word troll like it has gone out of style , can you see the difference?

    - congratulations by the way for not using the word troll in a post !!! must have nearly killed you !!!

  • Having had both dogs and cats I know they both have their good and annoying points. However, having been on the receiving end of neighbours who left their Jack Russells outside to bark all day long, and never being able to venture into my garden without next door's dog barking the whole time, I can certainly sympathise with how annoying it is. As others have said, dogs will bark, but this shouldn't be used as an excuse for poor training or a total lack of consideration for others. If anyone knocked on my door to complain that my dog was barking incessantly I would be mortified and extremely apologetic, bearing in mind that most people will put up with a lot before getting to the stage when they feel they need to complain. If the OP is on friendly terms with their neighbours then hopefully they will receive a reasonable reaction from them and do something to minimise the barking.

Let's hope (for your sake ) that you exercise more "diplomacy and measured response" when you speak to your neighbours about their dogs than you have so far shown in your posts on this thread.
