Just to keep you informed about my S&S ISA transfers from H-L to III; they are all completed as at today.
- Started early February
- Mine completed couple of weeks ago
- My wife's completed today
Not all straightforward; did lots of chasing; no idea who was at fault; but at least it does eventually happen.
I will be telling the financial authorities in an effort to get them to legislate on the speed of this process which we all agree is a bl00dy disgrace.
Hang on guys and gals, it will happen but meanwhile, give them hell.0 -
More good news.
I asked III to take some cash ISA money from Nationwide. III acknowledged my form on 21st, the day after I sent it, NW drew a cheque from my account on 26th, III acknowledged receipt today, 29th.
So both organisations performed well and apart from the raising and posting of cheques - which I was expecting - and apart from the fact that I have to wait for the cheque to clear - again, what I was expecting - I am pleased.
This adds to our knowledge of how III work if they don't have to do an in-species transfer but I do object to them not giving me instant credit for a cheque from NW when, if I could trade it now, settlement would not be for 4-5 days. But I did agree to their T&Cs which told me that would happen.0 -
cross-posted because i think it has relevance
Update on my transfer - nearly there!
- Transfer from HL to III initiated towards end of Feb
- One IT and One share disappeared from HL after 2-4w and then appeared on III 1-2w later
- No further movement for several weeks so I chase HL and then all of my BlackRock and Vanguard funds disappear from HL. My ETF and cash remain on HL. No new appearances on III
- After waiting several weeks I chase both HL and III. No movement though I do discover that the ETF was misssed off the transfer form by HL. They tell me they will remedy this and send a check for cash
- Within 2w of this (and further chasing) the ETF and cash appear on III site. The etf is in dollars rather than sterling but a simple call to III fixes this
- Now after further 1w all the Vanguard funds have appeared on III so im just waiting on Blackrock now and my transfer is complete. Its been 3 months so far and still not there but Im expecting things to complete within the next 2w i hope.
I think chasing is necessary as I gave them lots of leeway initially but really started chasing up once it got past 8-10w and I wonder if thats why there has been more action in the last 2-3w. May just be coincidence.
III did tell me that they are noticing long delays with Blackrock and Vanguard as opposed to other fund managers but that may be because people holding their trackers are most likely to move so they are very busy?
Customer service has been pretty good from HL and III throughout. III quick to correct minor errors and all stocks/funds/shares transferred in correct number of units. HL slower to reply to secure messages than in the past but still timely and completely understandable.
Agree the whole process needs a revamp as its 3 months and I'm still not quite there.
Awaiting response from HL to a secure message from me asking them to waive account closure fees as we creep into June, although there is nothing left on their platform I want to wait for complete transfer.

My ISA transfer from HL to III is now more or less complete.
All 11 funds gone from HL and showing in III after about 11 weeks.
I did not chase them, so not to bad compared with the experience of some.
Had a secure message from III telling me transfer is complete and a week later I received the transfer offer credit.
Only thing missing is the residual cash which III say could take up to a further 3 weeks.
I sent a secure message to HL to chase this up and today it has gone from my HL account. So just waiting for it to appear at III.
Good job I took screen shots as they have closed the ISA account so all history is gone. Although they have left open the fund & share account which I never used.0 -
i'm pleased that things are working out for people now.
i've received a letter from them today...they are very confused, but have credited my account with 3 foc trades.0 -

Current state of play :
SIPP : 16 funds/trackers still sitting in HL, 5 Investment Trusts have arrived intact with iii, and 1 IT is lost in space.
ISA 1 : 1 fund only, still sitting in HL.
ISA 2 : 1 fund still sitting in HL, 0 funds in iii, and 4 funds lost in space.
A pretty pathetic state of affairs really - secure messages currently being fired off to both parties.
Secure message sent to HL on 27/05 is still awaiting the courtesy of a reply over a week later...
They either seem to be losing their way or couldn't give a hoot about providing "exemplary" servicing for customers who have voted with their feet.0 -
the iii website drives me mad...
usually, i can get straight in to my portfolio, but sometimes i can't find it in 20 minutes of trying...i cannot understand how it can be so difficult. surely clicking "My Portfolio" at the top of the screen ought to take us straight to it? Or 'My Account' followed by 'My Portfolio' (different button)? Or evern 'My Account' followed by the other 'My Account'?
you have to get to 'Overview' somehow...sometimes i'm straight in. but i've just had to give up:(0 -

yes, there is some confusion in that respect.
i have been back onto the site, with no problems at all.
it is as if sometimes i can Login, and clearly be shown as Logged In, but can't access my account. clicking ISA gives me a link to be able to open an ISA, rather than access the ISA i have..
is anyone else finding they sometimes have this problem?0
