7 days ago we had this message from II regarding the transfer of my husband's ISA :
I am writing to you today to confirm that your transfer is now in the very final stages of completion. The holding that you have transferred will be displayed within your account in the next 3 days
I hopeful that this means that we don't have long to wait (the "3 days" seems to be a rather vague expression meaning something along the lines of "things are happening but you're not quite out of the woods yet" rather than 3 actual days :-))
No news at all on my transfer though :-(0 -

Perhaps they sent it to all their new clients regardless of the true transfer state. A bit like the apology for the delay letter they seemed to send to everyone about a month ago.0 -

This is the exact same as my situation; my husband has received this message too, but no news regarding my transfers which were started before my husband's.....0 -
And me too.
10 weeks in and only a few of my funds have appeared. Seven days after the 3 day notification no change.
I have decided enough is enough and I am going to start hassling II by phone and email.0 -

After the long tale of the transfer of my SIPP transfer from HL to ATS, I was obviously feeling masochistic and decided to transfer my general funds and ISA from Cavendish/Fidelity to iii. Fidelity seemed reasonably competent compared with HL and even sent me a reregistration notice when funds disappeared from my account there. The trouble is that only one fund has appeared at iii, with the longest gap being a Schroders fund that left Fidelity 7 weeks ago. After getting shirty with iii's initial responses, they sent me this.
We are unable to provide you with a specific date for when your transfer will be completed as we need to wait for notification form the fund managers as to when their part of the process will be complete.
I can confirm that I have asked our transfers team to chase the fund managers for a completion date, however at the moment due to the high volumes of transfers within the industry we cannot promise that they will be able to provide this. This is not our usual process for completing transfers therefore I cannot guarantee when we will be able to contact them.
So iii are saying they can't even tell me when they will be able to get round to contacting the funds manager to see what's happened. Sigh0 -
im unsure whether i am going to avoid HL charges now...as none of my accounts are fully transferred, still:(0

Surely HL's agreement to waive charges/fees was on condition that they received your transfer request within a specified timeframe eg 30 days from date of their letter?
So length of time taken to transfer will have no effect on this?0 -
badger is correct.
The condition was that H-L received the request before the deadline.0 -
Initiated this transfer for my husbands ISA and for mine held with BestInvest on 30.04.14, and absolutely nothing has happened.II said that they have requested the transfer on 3 occasions and nothing back. I emailed BestInvest who said yes they had received the transfer requests but had done nothing with it as they want to know how we intend to pay their exit fees but had not bothered to contact us to ask!Official email of complaint has now been sent to BestInvest on the basis of unreasonable delay and extortionate exit fees (£25 per fund plus £60 ISA closure fee!)
We have now had letters from BestInvest saying that we signed up to their Select Online Service and the fees were clear therefore we have to pay them. This is even though they encouraged their customers to transfer to the Select service.
However, on the basis that there has been unreasonable delay in dealing with the transfer request they will waive the fees on this occasion. Result - I am very pleased with that.0 -
I had the same experience. I rang BestInvest and at first they told me they hadn't received the requests (they've been asked twice). They then said "oh yes" we have the requests but we haven't done anything. What amazed me was they way they said they hadn't done anything like: "yea we got it but frankly we couldn't be bothered to do anything about it".
After I'd spoken to them, they then rang me back, told me about the transfer fees and asked me why I was leaving. I told them that I needed a capped or fixed fee proposition and they said "ok, how do you want to pay the exit fees?"
I'm also transferring from HL and am having the same experience as everybody else. It's the insouciance of everybody I deal with at HL and BestInvest that is really getting to me, together with their unwillingness to even attempt to retain my custom.
Yes I would agree. Over the years I have found that the attitude of the people at Best Invest does leave something to be desired. In fairness I dealt with someone called Ben in relation to this transfer who has been pretty helpful, but my husband had the misfortune to deal with someone called Sam who was just downright rude.0
