I'm now 11 weeks into the transfer and still only a few funds have transferred. I phoned today to follow up my emails and find out the position and apart from a promise to pass the details on to the transfer department got nowhere. "It's an industry wide problem" and there is no indication of how long it might take although 14 weeks was quoted as the kind of time transfers were taking.

Just a whinge as there is no one else to complain to.

I have started a separate post to try and find the best and worst funds for transfer time.

    "14 weeks" - I wish.......
  • Didn't spot this thread when I started one in the ISA section a few days ago.

I don't trust iii whatsoever, they have been telling me for several weeks that they had not received a cheque from HL to transfer my S&S ISA.

As soon as I posted on here (within two hours) the funds magically appeared in my iii account.

Contacted HL to ask when the cheque was sent/drawn and their accounts dept says the funds left their Lloyds intermediary account some 9 weeks before iii put the money in my account with them.

I have messages from iii in the meantime claiming to have made multiple attempts to get a copy of the cheque from HL. I'm sceptical that they ever made any such contact now.

The cash element of my SIPP seems to have moved over, at least I think it has..lol

When I asked II previously how I would pay the £200 SIPP fee, as I saw no immediate way to pay it, they advised it would come from any cash transferred over, hence why I put some cash into my account at the HL side. Thing is I cant see any transaction history for having paid stuff on the II website. Anyone got any suggestions?

I received a letter on Friday informing me HL had now transferred everything over from their end. I am just waiting on two of my funds being re-registered. (SLI Small Companies and Vanguard LS 60)
  • My exit fees were eventually waived after a complaint to FoS "because I was determined"

I said that the change in terms post RDR had increased my costs and that I should be free to leave.

Even so HL costs were so high that even with all the exit fees I would be quids in within a year.

A year? My HL fees would have increased by over £100 a month, while the transfer cost (if I had paid it) would have been £75!
  • It's now over 3 months since iii acknowledged receipt of my ISA and SIPP transfer forms.
    Current state of play :

SIPP : 16 funds/trackers still sitting in HL, 5 Investment Trusts have arrived intact with iii, and 1 IT is lost in space.
ISA 1 : 1 fund only, still sitting in HL.
ISA 2 : 1 fund still sitting in HL, 0 funds in iii, and 4 funds lost in space.

A pretty pathetic state of affairs really - secure messages currently being fired off to both parties.

It is now exactly 17 weeks since my transfer forms were received by iii.
    Current state of play :
SIPP : 12 funds still sitting in HL, 7 of which are duplicated in iii. Remaining 5 in HL account for 20% of portfolio.
50% of portfolio now in iii ( discounting 1 fund showing in iii that I actually sold in HL in April!)
2 Vanguard trackers ( 30% of portfolio ) currently lost in transit.
    ISA1 : 1 fund only - lost in transit.
ISA2 : 0 in HL, 1 in iii, 4 funds lost in transit.

Part of HL response of 7/6 : "We have created transfer forms for the outstanding stock transfers in your accounts - they will be sent to the fund managers next week." [ Which somewhat begs the question of what HL were doing during the previous 3 months ]

From what I have experienced, the transfer process has proved "easier" with my Investment Trust holdings.
The tardiest UT fund managers seem to be Artemis, JPMorgan, Liontust, Newton, and Standard Life.
I'm also keen to know into which black hole my large Vanguard holdings have disappeared...

Both my husband and I had a "Your transfer is in the final stage" message today so hopefully things are on the move.

It's been just over 8 weeks for us so far (although I've actually been waiting for almost 16 weeks as my original transfer form went to the wrong address - my error, not ii's).

    I will. I will.

All three funds for one relative now gone from HL - one safely arrived with II.....
