Samuela66,
Have you received the wine or any promise/indication that the wine is coming? I have a bank account with FD so hesitate ...
I got the weirdest fone call from them, and then nothing ever not even a letter, so don't waste your time :PThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

They are pretty quick to respond email enquiries: (FTR, I asked if I am eligible for this offer, having a FD current account but no CC account)

The wine offer is a specific offer for new customers to first direct only.
Therefore, unfortunately you do not qualify for this. However, there may be
other offers that are applicable, to find out more please contact us either
through our secure internet banking or call us on 08456 100 100. Or if you
prefer please let us know a suitable time and contact number for you together

I've just signed up for a LloydsTSB Accucard and as I finished the registration, a pop-up informed me of an offer that I thought was worth sharing.
If I refer a friend, according to the conditions all that is required is for both of us to make a purchase (no minimum spend indicated) and we each get a multi-region DVD player. The brand isn't mentioned but it appears to be a full-size remote controlled unit. 8)
There appears to be one other condition, in that both applicants have to be accepted for the gift to be sent. The pop-up had a referral code to enter in a box provided on the registration page, and a note to explain that each applicant will be aware of the friend's acceptance.
Seems OK, but I'm sure there will be a catch... ::)0 -
I recently applied for both a First Direct cheque account and credit card together and they told me I am eligible for a free flight and a couple of nights acommodation. Europe or west coast USA. I'll post more details when I get the paperwork.
Ryanair is offering, on top of the free flight for taking out their card, a free flight for every five you buy (and use) but there are only a limited number of seats that can be used on each plane. Anyone had any experience of this?

I opened an Egg card account about 8 months ago, to take advantage of the 0% for 6 months offer. I have since transferred the balance to a Halifax card (0% for 9 months) but am keeping my Egg account open - not for the promise of 6 months 0% BT on the anniversary of opening the account, but because of the excellent 'Egg Money Manager' facility.
Once set up (and it DID take a lot of ringing round the various financial institutions with whom I share my debt!) it displays my credit card balances (Egg AND Halifax), mortgage (Nationwide), bank accounts (First Direct) and any other loans/savings accounts etc with other organisations all on one page. It stores all my electronic passwords in what they refer to as a password safe, and automatically logs me in as necessary. It's brilliant ;D, and has helped me to organise my finances in a logical way.
First Direct are also offering a similar facility, but to be honest it took so long to set up the Egg site (with all the various passwords, mother's maternal grandparents' place of birth etc etc) that I can't be bothered - if it ain't broke, don't fix it (but I would be interested to hear of anyone who has used the First Direct version)0 -
I need a balance transfer for approx 6months, would love a freebie but tried joiming virgin which is run by mbna, cant balance transfer between 2 mbna accounts.
so is there any more which offer similar freebies.
also does the balnce transfer have to be in one lump sum or a couple of different transfers?
thanks0 -
Why not BT to your current account (MBNA allow this) then just pay off the credit card from there?0
