I applied for the MBNA card because of the 2 free watches deal and on application did a transfer - but like Steve48 not had them delivered. Just asked them why and was told i had to make a purchase using the card not just balance transfer - and if I did make a purchase I would accrue interest on the balance I had transfered unless I paid it off this month.
So I told them I wanted the watches or I'll transfer out to Barclaycard - they are coming back to me - I'll let you know....0 -
Good post Jason, just had a look. Shame both me and the other half have an account with them, got £25 each for opening but never used it. Must get round to closing it!

Steve, I have MBNA card got a few months ago. Never bought anything - buy stuff with another cash back card. Only used MBNA to transfer to till the 0% offer finishes. Received my two watches very quickly - so go back and tell them they are incorrect.
TrevI am NOT a mortgage & insurance adviser - or anything to do with finance, that was put on by the new system I dont know why?!0 -
Must try FD then! Cab my other half apply too?

Thanks Trev,
Just "shouted" at MBNA and they admitted it was their mistake and my 2 watches are now in the post........

An update on the Mint Card. Mint say that the 50% of credit limit max on money transfer is forever. The remaining 50% is reserved for purchases.
I'd try them again.0 -
First Direct are offering a free half case of wine (thats 6 bottles) when you apply for a First Direct credit card.
Offer is available through this link here: http://www.firstdirect.com/creditcards/creditcard_wine_CC027.shtml
Also offering 0% for 6 months. Wine offer ends 31st August.
The link leads to their standard application form. Was there a promo code with the mailing?0 -
To answer my own question - it's possible to get to some affiliate sites showing the link by googling for :
"first direct credit card" wine.
If you do this, some sort of FD cookie checker comes up in your history and the prompt for a promo code isn't shown on the application when you click through to it.0 -
Tre, I have an account with first direct, just a bank account and they let me apply for the card, did it on line from the wine link and got the forms yesterday to sign................can't wait to receive my wine :P
Samuela66,
Have you received the wine or any promise/indication that the wine is coming? I have a bank account with FD so hesitate ...Mark Hughes' blue and white army0
