I was just over at Amazon.com and I noticed a special deal with an amazon.com credit card, here's the link:

    http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/subst/misc/amazon-cobrand-cc/v3/marketing-from-help-step1.html/ref=b1_other_513058/102-2378277-7349700

I'm not one for reading the small print, but from first impressions it seems like a reasonably good deal. Register the card, get your $30 (bout £18) off a dvd or book or whatever, then just cancel it.

I have just received my MbNA Platinum Plus card and look forward to receiving my "his and hers" Accurist watches, "worth £120" in the near future.

Last year I received an very acceptable Accurist watch "worth £40" for applying for their Platinum Card.

I wonder what they will offer me for applying for the "extra plus" card, should they ever introduce one.

BTW, the only card I ever use is my NatWest Premium Card.

Surely you will take advantage of the free cash to invest for the promo period?

Good post Jason, just had a look. Shame both me and the other half have an account with them, got £25 each for opening but never used it. Must get round to closing it!

Applied for and got my MBNA card in April and made my balance transfer as soon as possible. 2 months later and still no watches - I've just phoned them to find out why and was told that if I didn't make a proper purchase with the card I wouldn't be getting any watches! Can't find a post from anyone else who's had this experience so I guess they must be tightening up.
Also, just received my new Mint card, but on trying to transfer the whole credit limit to my bank account was told that the max transfer is 50% of the credit limit. Hope this is 'per transaction' as I'll be trying again for the other 50% tomorrow!
Retired and debt free at last :)

An update on the Mint Card. Mint say that the 50% of credit limit max on money transfer is forever. The remaining 50% is reserved for purchases.
