Am I being silly?

Thinking more about the side issue that this thread has gone on to (alleged "cyber bullying" :rotfl:), anyone who spends much time on this particular board must surely realise how threads can turn, or that some people are more direct than others.
I rarely start any threads here as I rarely feel the need - I posed a question afew months back (similar to the OP's post in a way, in that it was a "should I or shouldn't I say something" question) when I saw a 7 year old classmate of DS being taxiied to school (there was slightly more to it than that). Boy did I take some stick on that thread? Do I care? Not a jot. In amongst the stick was some good advice, I'd come here to seek out various opinions on the situation, and at the end of the day you lot are "strangers on the internet" (apart from the ones of you I have as FB friends).
I've also taken a bit of stick for preferring to see children named what they're going to be called by their parents (ie, Charlie not Charles, Katie not Katherine, etc...). It's only my opinion but some people can be harsh in their opposition to it. Does it bother me? Nope. I can take my business to another board or website if I was that upset by it. As we all can.

Oh yes, I read back after I posted that only to see you said the exact same thing. Rather proves the point.

If I do that I usually put it in my reply, so at least the OP is clear that I'm not deliberately repeating what someone else might have said.

your name might be ugly that's why :eek:
Miiaaaooww!
I've not read the whole thread, but I know what this board's like and can well imagine the cattiness and the hair-pulling that's been going on for the duration of the 11/12 pages!
I'd best leave and let you all get on with it, ladies

Talking of cats...
...I was talking to someone yesterday who said she'd named her son Theo after the cat she'd had as a girl. I wonder what her relatives thought of that, lol!Val.0 -

I must confess, whenever I happen upon threads about grandparents denied contact with their grandchildren, I assume that something like the above was the start but it got worse rather than being resolved. I recall a thread (here? somewhere, anyway) that pointed to some allegedly tragic thread on Gransnet about the topic; it only required about two minutes' reading to see that the grandparents in question were completely unhinged, and the mother was behaving absolutely properly in protecting her children from maniacs.0
