Yes, I'm the SW oat lady lol! I went on and off SW for years but I just couldn't lose much or keep off what I lost for long. I did lose 5 stone over the course of many years but again so slow!
In Jan this year I also discovered the dietdoctor.com website and started eating low carb. I've lost another 5 stone since then
There are several low carb high fat groups on Facebook but the one I find best is OKL. It is Optimal Ketogenic Living and it is loaded with scientific studies and so much information. The other members are so helpful as well! Some of the low carb groups really push high fat and low protein but that isn't the best way to go. It is important that you eat sufficient protein to protect your muscles and heart.
    Hope this helps!

    Thanks for that link, Marion.

Re the Diet Doctor Dr Andreas Eenfeld - I think I saw somewhere that his best selling book in Sweden will be coming out here in an English version. Hope so. There's someone else on here doing his plan I think.

I've now got to get my head around his plan (yet again). I live with my DH and two adult children. Everyone's used to SW type recipes (mostly regular ones I've adapted) and seeing me consume industrial quantities of 'free' fruit. I'll have to start explaining my changes (again)!

I'm still doing it! I had a month off and followed the slimming world diet. I didn't lose, but I didn't gain either. The reason I came off is that I had stalled and hadn't lost for about 6 weeks. Since I went back to low carb I've started losing again. Feeling good!

I've been low carbing for about a year now. Fell off the wagon at Easter (stood for ages in a queue at a stately home, my resolution for vegetable soup turned into sausage roll, chips and beans by the time I came to order - whoops!), but back on it again. Amazing how I put on 5.5lbs in 6 days. Need to shift about 3lbs to be back on target again. Don't need to lose weight really, just need to maintain what I've lost.

I am really a novice so need all the help you can give me, love my meat, eggs, butter and cheese, eat veg not much fruit, but I also love my potatoes and bread, what is the best figure in carbs to aim for, trying to get down to 50 but missing it at the moment.

    Hiya!

I did LC for quite a long time but ended up finding it too restrictive. Over the years I did amass a lot of recipes and they are still there - I hope :)

You don't have any control over what life throws at you.
You DO have control over how you react :)

Update, I have been trying this since Tuesday, still probably eating too many carbs, around 100 a day, as I am working out what I can eat, I have more energy, no bloating, and have lost 4lb.
I am working toward getting my carbs a lot lower, but I cannot afford to throw away food, so I am trying to use what I have sparingly.
