Hi all
Trying again, I've done a few days of low carb and felt pretty ropey this time! Even keeled over at a bus stop... I think it may have been a mix of carb withdrawals and a hot flush!
I'm reticent to say too much as my track record isn't good but I'm feeling determined again now I'm over the worst.
Well done to everybody who has lost weight.
I keep coming back to this...hopefully I can see it through!August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.0 -
Hi all!!! Im back (again!!!) really need to give myself a slap and get some weight shifted so have decided to low-carb again as its the only diet I seem to be able to stick to!!
its been a few years since I LC'd so Im guessing there are a lot more LC friendly foods about?! please tell me one of you has found bread or tomato sauce?! I think I tried making flax bread last time but it made me feel quite poorly so will be avoiding that this time!
I will be starting next week as I am waiting for the atkins book to be delivered from amazon0 -
Hi Newcook and everyone! I am back and married and it was all lovely but it flew by!!
I am no longer hardcore lowcarbing however I am much, much lower carb than I was before the diet.
I ate whatever I wanted on the 'mini-moon' and put on 5 lbs. Wasn't too worried about that as it was probably water (I lost 10 lbs on my first week on the diet!). However I weighed myself this morning and have put on another 2 lbs. Really slippery slope and it's hard as I am being really good (sooo much better than I ate before!). Back at the gym now though so hopefully things will settle down. Will try not to weigh myself for another week. bl##dy carbs!!:eek:Since starting again after beanie: June 2016: Child development DVDs, Massive Attack tickets. July: Aberystwyth trip, hotmilk nightie. Aug: £10 Hipp Organic vouchers, powerpack. September: Sunglasses. October: £30 poundland vouchers.0 -
Evening
Well, I'm still going!
I'm still at the stage of avoiding everything I'm not sure of, including breads etc, but I've got a couple of cookbooks now so I'll try to branch out.
I'm feeling much better in myself as I always do when I LC but I'm trying not to weigh myself again too soon... it'll probably be next Monday.
DD2 has joined the gym again so I'll be swimming more while she does that. Might even join myself next month for a few months as a birthday present...not sure I'd feel comfortable.

I started the low carb diet 2 weeks ago and have to say I can feel how much less bloated I am and how much slimmer I feel! I don't miss potatoes etc but I do miss chocolate sooo much! I eat lots of eggs, meat, salad and veg. I don't snack really at all anymore inbetween meals and I think my mind is now conditioned not to eat much carbs anymore.
I need to lose a stone before July and this is the only diet that has worked for me.0 -
vodkachick - have you tried having a nibble on some dark chocolate? when I was LCing before I found that this helped to curb the craving.0

I have found it really easy to be honest, can feel the difference in my body even after two weeks! Tonight for tea I had a huge piece of steak, tomato, mozzarella and basil salad, mushrooms fried in butter, baked red pepper with garlic and halloumi cheese.
Im back on it from today – my atkins book arrived Saturday so I can refresh myself on it! Off shopping after work to stock up on eggs and meat!
Its been about 4 years since I last low carb’d but it’s the only diet that I have been able to stick to for more than 3 days lol!!
For dinner I am going to have chicken with broccoli and some crispy bacon in melted cream cheese mmmmm!0 -
I weighed myself this morning and have lost 5lbs in the last fortnight. Some of this went on over Easter but I'm still quite happy with that. My spare tyre is definitely going down!
newcook - LC food is just so nice isn't it? I've just bought myself a bag of peanuts to celebrate. You can't do that on a low fat diet!August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.0 -

Its great!! I was telling my workmate what foods I can eat and she said ‘I thought you were meant to be on a diet!!’ she cant believe that I can eat cheese, full fat mayo, butter etc and as much as I want and still lose weight!!
Im going to try and make some oopsie rolls later but have a feeling Im going to need to buy an electric whisk!
Think I might also make a cauli pizza base Friday so I can still tuck into pizza with a film!
Have any of you made ‘spaghetti’ with courgettes?0
