Hi everyone!
As several of you have noticed, we're making changes to the sticky threads (threads "stuck" to the top of each board so people can find them quickly).
Essentially the aim is to keep the forum tidy so you know where to find the important threads but can also get to the new threads quickly and easily. This will be clearer once we've launched the new forum.
Meanwhile, we're not quite finished with the stickies yet. Our very kind board guides are helping us with them but there may be a few tweaks here and there over the next week or so.
Thanks for your patience and understanding everyone

For the moment you could use a subscription system on threads you want notifications of new posts on but please remember we have a new forum design coming in soon, which should solve this for you.
Andrea
Can you explain a little about how exactly it will do that? May help to assuage concerns?Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

I suspect I can more or less guess anyway.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

It'll be a new design that'll attempt to circumvent the tricks people have used to avoid the annoying and intrusive adverts.0

Err..... What adverts?Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

You don't show ANY adverts at all? Nothing from Google or anything like that? (I use Adblock Plus and have applied a custom rule to block all adverts AND the annoying right side bar. I thought there used to be adverts here but it's been so long since I've seen this site in its native state).
Apologies if I've mis-stated.
As long as the new design doesn't force the sidebar(s) on us, and doesn't force the site to use about 50% of the display width on a widescreen monitor, then I'll be happy.0 -

Actual adverts from 3rd parties/Google? No. Never.
If you mean the side and top bar, then I tend to hide those as well to ease navigation.

I really don't like the new format for stickies. It's annoying and unnecessary.
Why does the Comps need to be like the rest of the boards. Comps are different to the rest of the boards and what suits the other boards may not (DOES NOT) suit the Comps Board.
Why are changes being done for the sake of change? Surely the Comps Board users could have been consulted about it as we are the ones needing to use the new format.42.7 percent of all statistics are made up on the spot:hello: Good Luck everyone !:hello:0 -
Really, really, dislike it.
Does not work for the comps board at all. The dailies especially are much harder/slower to navigate now.0 -
I feel that moving some of the stickies is disrespectful to say the least.
The Ormus thread in the arms and the Squeaky book in oldstyle. These are/were posters held in highest regard, it feels like the new owners don't respect that!Life is short, smile while you still have teeth0
